Wang Yi's rebounding showcase continued.
On a Kings possession, after Wang Yi got the ball, the opposing team not only had King Arthur guard him, but Barton came over to double-team him as well.
So Wang Yi passed the ball straight to Little Danny on the left.
With Barton doubling Wang Yi, Little Danny was wide open.
As he took the ball, he remembered what Wang Yi had told him earlier: as long as he had a chance to shoot, he should take it. If he couldn't get the rebound, Wang Yi would take the loss.
So Little Danny shot without hesitation.
The ball flew toward the rim.
At the same time, Wang Yi had already charged into the paint to fight for the rebound.
Thick Eyebrows, the opposing team's big man Gordon, and the Kings' Bond and Tures were all under the basket.
No matter how you looked at it, the rebound belonged to one of those four. There was no way Wang Yi would get it.
But as Wang Yi reached the free-throw line, he saw the ball bounce off the rim and carom toward the mid-range area. He leaped straight up from the free-throw line.
He met the ball in midair.
He snatched it with one hand, then glided through the air before slamming it into the basket.
He grabbed an offensive rebound over the heads of four big men, then leaped from the free-throw line and slammed home the putback.
That rebound and putback stunned everyone once again.
The rest of the third quarter unfolded at that same pace.
The Lakers thought Wang Yi was still going to focus on blocking shots this quarter, so they kept passing the ball away from him. Little did they know that this only let him charge into the paint
