The day after Wang Yi locked in a season average of 50 points with four games to spare.

A new piece of news arrived.

Since leaving the Kings last summer, Doug Lambier had been unable to find a team willing to sign him.

Everyone knew he was a hothead. Without someone with the same presence as Wang Yi, there was no way to keep him in check.

But today, Doug, who had barely played all season, signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers held a grand welcome ceremony for Doug and hosted a press conference.

At the press conference, a reporter asked Doug, "Why did you choose to join the Lakers?"

Doug's face tightened. "My lifelong pursuit is to take down the best player in the world on the court. By coming to the Lakers, I have the best chance of meeting Wang Yi in the Playoffs."

The reporter followed up, "Then why not join an Eastern Conference team? That way, you could meet Wang Yi in the Finals. A Peak Showdown—that wouldn't fit your pursuit even better?"

Doug snorted. "In the West, I'm sure to meet Wang Yi. In the East, if you can't make it out of the conference, you won't get to face him."

"So right now, Wang Yi is the only one on your mind?"

Doug nodded. "That's right."

Then he spoke to the camera as if addressing Wang Yi directly. "You trash-talking king, I suggest you stock up on tissues before the Playoffs start!"

Everyone looked at Doug, whose face was full of murderous intent.

They had barely seen him in public all season, and now that he was back, he was already making threats.

Before the Lakers' next game, the players also welcomed Doug when they attended a press conference.
