Dako was thrilled to see Wang Yi return.
If there was anyone on the Raptors who wanted Wang Yi back most, it was Coach Dako.
Without Wang Yi, the Raptors' record had plummeted at first. Although it had improved somewhat lately, they were still only eleventh in the Western Conference.
That ranking wasn't even good enough to make the Play-in Tournament.
So Coach Dako had been dreaming of Wang Yi's return.
"Wang, it's great to have you back!"
Coach Dako was delighted at first, but then he said, "Still, you've been traveling for so long. Why don't you take a couple of days to rest and play in the next game?"
Wang Yi shook his head. "No need. I haven't played in ages, and I'm itching to get back out there."
"All right. I'll adjust the game plan right now."
The rest of the team were just as excited when they heard Wang Yi was back.
They had all been hoping he'd return.
When Pang Bo saw Wang Yi, he was so excited he nearly leaped onto him.
He was as happy as a 260-pound man could be.
While Wang Yi had been away, Pang Bo had gotten more touches, and his average points had gone up a little. But without Wang Yi drawing defenders, he faced much more defensive pressure. Two or three players often guarded him in the paint.
He'd had a few standout performances, but being double- or triple-teamed every day made him feel as if his hands and feet were tied.
Now that Brother Yi was back, the whole team would come alive on both offense and defense.
The head coach continued, "I'll put you on the active list now."
Under league rules, twelve players could be placed on the active list for each game.
