The Kings beat the Grizzlies 4–0 with ease
The first game of the series took place in Sacramento the following afternoon.
At least twenty Chinese celebrities came to watch Wang Yi play that afternoon.
Wang Yi had an average performance, scoring just 36 points, with 12 rebounds and 19 assists.
The main reason was that Danny caught fire from three-point range.
He went 7-for-10 from three, 3-for-6 on two-pointers, and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line, scoring 30 points.
The Kings easily beat the Grizzlies by 20 points, 127–107.
However, there was some bad news for the Kings.
Gallo, Anthony, had played for only five minutes when he lost his balance during a collision and fell hard onto the court.
He fractured his tailbone, ending his season.
Given the Kings' current momentum, they had a very good chance of winning the championship this season.
In other words, this was Gallo, Anthony's best chance yet to win a title, and he was sidelined just five minutes into the playoffs without scoring a single point.
The Kings would certainly give him a championship ring if they won, but a ring earned by playing on the court himself would always mean more.
After the game, the entire Kings team was subdued.
Even Wang Yi was unusually quiet during the post-game interview.
No player wanted to see a teammate get injured.
Gallo, in particular, was the second scoring option off the bench and an important backup for Barnes.
Without Gallo, Barnes would have to play longer, and at his age, his body might not be able to handle it.
At least thirty NBA stars offered prayers for Gallo after his injury.
Afterward, Gallo remained silent and withdrawn.
A tear even slipped from the corner of his tightly shut eye.
It wasn't because of the pain.
