Shi Yue narrowed his eyes and saw where the yellow fine sand had come from. It was actually a swarm of yellow beetles, each about the size of a fingernail. If they hadn't suddenly attacked him, he wouldn't even have noticed them.
What surprised Shi Yue was that nearly all these yellow beetles were at the Core Formation Realm. The larger Worm King had even reached the Nascent Soul Realm.
Tens of thousands of yellow beetles quickly gathered together, transforming into yellow long sabers that slashed at Shi Yue from every direction.
Shi Yue could sense the green-robed young man rapidly closing in on him. He couldn't afford to waste too much time.
He brought out seventy-two Purple Flame Swords. With a blur, they multiplied into thousands of flying swords and charged toward the yellow beetles.
These flying swords were far beyond the red sword qi, but they still couldn't wipe out the swarm. They only killed a small portion. The Exotic Fire, however, flared up around him, then burst apart, transforming into hundreds of palm-sized Crimson Firebirds that swooped at the yellow beetles.
The Crimson Firebirds were made of Exotic Fire and easily wiped out the yellow beetles. But as long as the Worm King survived, it continued ordering its underlings to attack Shi Yue.
Fortunately, the yellow beetles had only one kind of attack. A steady stream of red sword qi shot out from around Shi Yue, and though it failed to kill the beetles, it kept them from approaching him.
