Background

Fang Yang was originally a transmigrant from Earth who arrived on the Douluo Continent and was adopted by Lin Ximeng in Aolai City. Six years later, he awakened an elemental Flame Martial Soul with Innate Full Soul Power, immediately attracting the interest of the Spirit Pagoda. Though he initially deferred the offer to consult his family, he joined because its resources could support a talent his household could not afford to cultivate 1 2 4.

After awakening, Fang Yang obtained the Heavenly Flame Bead and entered its inner Flame Square, where twenty-three Heavenly Flames were gathered. There he acquired the Flame Mantra, a cultivation technique capable of unlimited evolution through devouring flames 2.

While leaving the Spirit Pagoda, he rescued Na'er from thugs and brought her home, promising to be her brother. He later became a Spirit Pagoda core disciple after demonstrating 101 points of spiritual power in the Spirit Connection Realm, receiving the Scarlet Flame Tiger King Soul Spirit, a storage ring, and ten million Federal Currency from Pagoda Master Liu Yang 4 11.

Fang Yang studied first at Red Mountain Academy, then East Sea Academy, where his strength rapidly became known among his classmates and teachers.
