Background

Meng Jian is Meng Nan and Zhao Xiaoshuang’s second son. As a child, he was more delicate in appearance and resembled his mother, but his disposition resembled Meng Nan’s: gentle, meticulous, organized, and composed. 2

Meng Nan obtained the Profound Spirit Treasure Ginseng of Ji You while Zhao Xiaoshuang was pregnant with Meng Jian. The treasure’s effects granted him the innate Heavenly Eye, which manifested in childhood and revealed its full power after he entered Qi Condensation. 49 50

After becoming an Immortal Master, Meng Jian traveled widely and befriended cultivators regardless of origin. He gathered the Four Immortals of Mirror Mountain and subdued four great yao, establishing Guangjiang Pass as a defended city within Dragon Ridge Mountain Territory. 46

As Second Brother Immortal Master, Meng Jian protects Guangjiang Pass with the Four Immortals and Four Monsters of Mirror Mountain. Their combined Qi Condensation strength allows the pass to maintain a city against surrounding yao and mo. 46

When Meng Nan requests aid against the Red Robe General, Meng Jian rallies his companions and joins the raid on the enemy camp. The group kills the Red Robe General and his 330 cavalry, ending the Nightmare Suppression threat against Meng Nan. 46 49

Giant Spirit Banquet

Meng Jian arrives with the Eight Immortals and Eight Monsters, elevating the Giant Spirit Banquet into an unprecedented gathering. 93

At Meng Nan’s request, he confronts Runzhu Recluse. Although Runzhu’s thunder arts surpass his own in raw technique, Meng Jian’s Heavenly Eye turns the battle and establishes him as a chief-tier figure. 93

Rescue at Starfire Mountain

After twenty-six years away, Meng Jian returns to the renamed Starfire Mountain and finds Meng Xingzhe imprisoned beneath five mountains. He splits the mountains with his divine axe, frees the captives, and proceeds to save Meng Nan from the giant star overhead. 128

The False King

Meng Jian’s refinement of the Mountain-Splitting Divine Axe, combined with his Heavenly Eye and five remarkable arts, elevates him beyond the established Qi Refining combat grades. Meng Nan names this unprecedented level “False King” because Meng Jian can battle Foundation Establishment cultivators without having entered that realm. 136

During the corpse-refinement crisis, he uses the Heavenly Eye to locate an enemy hidden underground and engages it directly while Meng Santan traces the larger threat. 136 137

Changgu Ghost City and Later Rescue

Meng Jian’s Dharma Eye discovers Changgu Ghost City twenty-three thousand li below ground, but the city lord detects his gaze and forcibly drags him inside, suppressing both his talismans and the Mountain-Splitting Divine Axe. 138

He is later captured by the Jade Dragon Society, prompting Meng Nan to seek help from the Sentient Beings Immortal Sect. Meng Nan ultimately rescues him, and father and son return together to the sect. 184 188
