In the starry sky, a Geth ship drifted aimlessly.
During the Reaper War, they had been drawn to the wisdom of the ancient machines and become followers of the Reapers. They had once sworn to exterminate all organic life and usher the universe into a new cycle.
However, the Reapers were defeated.
The boiling network gradually fell silent again, but the Geth found themselves in a state known as "confusion."
When the Reapers were defeated, these Geth were carrying out a search mission at the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy. Thus, they were "lucky" enough to avoid detection by the Inquisition or the Systems Alliance fleet and escape disaster.
But what now?
The warship was deathly silent. Only the red and green lights that flickered from time to time represented the thoughts taking place within the network.
The defeat of the ancient machines had been completely beyond the Geth's expectations. After all, from a probabilistic standpoint, it should have been almost impossible. The Reapers' power was something no organic could withstand, yet the Reapers had been defeated. There could only be one reason: an uncontrollable variable had appeared in the process.
The Inquisition.
A strange variable, incomprehensible and completely different from every organic species the Geth had ever encountered. Cruel, cold, ruthless, powerful. Yet unlike the ancient machines, it lacked their logic, filled instead with passion and chaos that made its actions impossible to predict.
They should collect its data for the next... the next what?
Battle? Or retreat?
Just then, a strange signal appeared. The Geth captured it, and it began to flow through the Geth network.
Are you going to give up?
A voice emerged from it, carrying a hint of strange provocation.
Give up? Considering the difference in strength between both sides, that is only natural.
