He still remembered that the first time had been when the Antimatter Legion invaded. His parents had stuffed six-year-old Dandar into an escape pod. As he had clung to the porthole, crying and screaming, all he could do was watch the planet grow farther and farther away until it finally vanished into the depths of space.
Forty years had passed since then.
Dandar had started a family and established a career. He had gotten married and had children, and he ran a modest shop in the city. To Dandar, his homeland had become a hazy memory buried in the dust of the distant past. Only occasionally did he dream of that scene—the cries, the screams, the roar of the propulsion engines, and the planet receding farther and farther from him...
