Although most places in this world had already become a paradise for zombies, just like these students, some people had still survived through good luck or other reasons and built shelters of their own.
Duanmu Huai's choice at the moment was simple—you stockpile food, I'll stockpile guns; we'll all have a bright future.
Rather than running around rescuing survivors, why not simply take over the shelters?
Compared to a few stragglers, weren't there more survivors in the shelters?
As for whether the other side was willing, that wasn't a problem Duanmu Huai needed to worry about.
The Inquisition wasn't some tenderhearted charity organization.
That was what Duanmu Huai thought. After that, the Inquisition took in several more groups of survivors, and from them, Duanmu Huai learned that the city indeed hadn't completely fallen. There were several shelters, including one established by the municipal government. Thus, without another word, Duanmu Huai immediately led his team over to collect them.
The result, however, was beyond Duanmu Huai's expectations.
"This is the third one, right?"
Looking at the zombie corpses covering the ground before him, Duanmu Huai furrowed his brows. Mary shook her head beside him.
"How strange..."
That was right. Just as Mary had said, it really was strange. Today, they had gone to the western part of the city, where they had located three shelters. Yet every one of them had already been completely destroyed. After entering the shelters, they found not a single living person inside, only zombies.
Of course, it would also be normal to say that this was normal. After all, in an apocalyptic environment like this, zombies could get in anywhere. Many shelters might have accidentally let zombies inside for some reason and then been wiped out.
But the situation at these three shelters wasn't like that.
