Before this, the soldiers of the reconnaissance units had still been hesitating over whether to rescue these infected people. Although touching them directly would dispel the illusions of Obsessive Sin and reveal their true monstrous forms, there was no denying that their appearances were otherwise highly deceptive. At least most people couldn't bring themselves to attack something with the same human appearance as themselves.
But once these monsters twisted and transformed into low-level demons, the situation naturally became something else entirely.
Demons.
The Inquisition's manuals naturally contained descriptions of demons, but most people believed demons didn't exist. Others insisted that so-called demons were merely mutated variants of some kind of zombie. Of course, those living on the Floating Island didn't sound especially confident when they said this, but they still held on to their beliefs to some extent.
However, Duanmu Huai shattered their final shred of conviction.
Soon, an even more intense battle began.
The reason Duanmu Huai had sent the combat troops in directly was that he knew this place was definitely being managed by demons of Obsessive Sin. To put it bluntly, the bastards of Obsessive Sin were the weakest among the Four Gods of Chaos. They were like assassins—high attack and high agility, but no defense.
Corruption's Filth had nothing but damage-soaking tanks under it, Deceitful Trickster had nothing but fireball-slinging mages, Savage Wrath had nothing but DPS dealers, and Obsessive Sin... well, they felt like debuff-casting warlocks. A dungeon could be cleared with or without them.
If there was one thing Obsessive Sin excelled at, it was eroding and corrupting other people's souls and minds.
Unfortunately, these soldiers' souls already belonged to the Inquisition. The power of the God of Destruction could destroy even plagues, let alone that tiny bit of Mental Pollution.
Without Mental Pollution,
