Lord Yu quietly watched Zhang Huizhi before finally murmuring:
"This is why I found you.
Though the universe teems with heroes, you, Chen Yan, are the only one whose thoughts align with mine!"
As Lord Yu spoke, even he laughed.
"It's just that the timing was wrong. You should have appeared sooner, not at the twilight of the Human Race."
He shook his head.
He said Chen Yan had appeared too late.
But wasn't he too late as well?
In this lifetime, he had seen through the suffering of the Human World and scorned the so-called greater good of the Human Race.
Lord Chen, Xia Hanzhou, Lord Xia—he cared about none of them.
The Yu Clan was proud.
And so was he.
He believed the path he had chosen could never be wrong.
Given time, he could change the future, reach the summit, and look down on the countless heroes of the world.
But Lord Chen wasn't willing to give him time, and the Ancient God certainly wouldn't either.
Lord Yu sat there, growing lonelier and more desolate by the moment.
He had seen through everything and understood it all.
He had grasped truths even Lord Xia knew nothing about.
But time wouldn't wait for him!
He suddenly spoke in a low voice:
"How unfairly Heaven's Dao tilts the scales!
I lament being born out of time!
Grant me five thousand years!
And I'd sweep the Eight Wastes to their utmost bounds!"
He suddenly burst into laughter, louder and louder, as waves of ancient desolation spilled from him.
The vast immortal realm within the Myriad Forms Dao Diagram withered under the shock.
Zhang Huizhi listened in silence.
A deep sense of helplessness rose within him, too.
Perhaps, in this vast Human World, Lord Yu alone had chosen the truest path.
