The chapters on immortal arts, artifacts, and elixirs in the Demon-Extermination Secret Canon were closely connected to the cultivation chapter, Demon-Suppressing Art. They complemented one another and together formed a complete cultivation system!
They all contained a trace of the true essence of countless Great Daos, such as divinity, Buddhism, and the Way of Preservation. They were also the culmination of Shen Mo's cultivation achievements.
Beyond using the Demon-Suppressing Art to suppress and refine Heavenly Demons into their own divine power, the more important ability of postnatal deities was to use the artifact-forging methods from the artifact chapter to create a Demon-Refining Banner of their own.
The forging method, structural design, powers, and characteristics of a Demon-Refining Banner were largely similar to those of a Soul Refining Banner. It was effectively a weakened version of the latter.
The difference was that creating a Demon-Refining Banner neither required nor allowed the blood sacrifice of worldly living beings. Instead, it had to be forged from Heavenly Demon skin and bones, then blood-sacrificed with Heavenly Demon soul-bodies. Once successfully refined, it could draw in Heavenly Demons of the same rank, convert them, and refine them into existences akin to Soul-Controllers and Demon Soul Generals.
At the same time, it could open up an independent space for these "Heavenly Demon Soul-Controllers" to dwell in. As the number of Soul-Controllers steadily increased, the world within the banner could gradually grow into a small world resembling a Blessed Land.
Naturally, the Demon-Refining Banner was not as wondrous as the Soul Refining Banner. The Heavenly Demon Soul-Controllers within lost all potential for growth and could not continue strengthening themselves or increasing their cultivation and power by devouring blood food, cultivating the Selfless Demon Scripture, or other means!
Ordinary cultivators could summon Heavenly Demon Soul-Controllers to battle and
