So far, Shen Mo's Soul Refining Banner contained a vast number of Demon Soul Generals of varying strength.

There were over fifty at or above the fourth tier alone; over four hundred and seventy above the third tier but below the fourth; and more than fifty-seven thousand below the third tier!

If he gathered them all and stationed them somewhere, they could immediately form a terrifying demon force... Yet he had not done so. Instead, he controlled Fairy Peiyu and came to Chaos Stone Stronghold, intending to subdue the demons of all sizes within as his subordinates.

The reason was simple enough.

The vast majority of Demon Soul Generals possessed no independent will. Even Demon Soul Generals like Fairy Peiyu, who stood among the highest ranks and had awakened a measure of intelligence, differed greatly from ordinary demons.

Forget fifth-tier great demons—even ordinary demons could spot the abnormalities on them!

Only by sending part of his consciousness into Fairy Peiyu and directly controlling her words and actions could Shen Mo make her appear no different from an ordinary demon, without exposing her nature as a Soul-Controller.

Aside from Fairy Peiyu, Shen Mo's exceptionally powerful Divine Soul could manage controlling several more Demon Soul Generals, but with his consciousness scattered, it would be exceedingly difficult not to reveal a flaw before the great demons of Hou Corpse Cave;

He might as well subdue some new demons. Not only would that spare him much trouble, it would also make her "demon identity" seem more genuine and convincing!

As he pondered, Shen Mo, through Fairy Peiyu, swung the Silver Flame Spear in his hand and viciously thrust it toward the natural grand formation shrouding Chaos Stone Stronghold.

Silver flames, demonic light, and the formation's spiritual radiance flashed violently, erupting with an earthshaking
