Patent Infringement

As an international corporation, Samsung had no shortage of capable executives. They divided up the work and each began carrying out their plans.

The engineers who had cracked the Phantom Projector's technology also received their rewards from Samsung. The cash bonuses varied according to each person's contribution to the work.

Samsung was still exploring the driver software, hoping to make it compatible with more and better components. Ideally, every component inside Samsung's projectors would be made by Samsung itself.

After receiving their first payment, the engineers worked with even greater enthusiasm and energy.

Samsung acted quickly. The very next day after receiving the patent certificate, its legal department sent a lawyer's letter to Shenma Technology Company.

To: Shenma Technology Company

Our company, Samsung Group, owns the patent rights to Illusion Screen Technology.

Description of our patent: Illusion Screen Technology uses a new driver program to fully realize a device's capabilities. Proof of ownership is included in Attachment One (the patent certificate).

We hereby notify your company that we have determined that the products your company sells under the Phantom Projector series infringe upon the aforementioned patent rights held by our company.

Without authorization, you have used our technology to manufacture products in the Phantom Projector series and earned enormous profits.

Your infringement has caused our company severe reputational damage and substantial financial losses.

We hereby solemnly declare that the statements contained in this notice and its attachments are true, valid, and lawful. Upon receipt of this letter, please immediately cease all activities suspected of infringing our rights.

Our company reserves the right to pursue your company's legal liability through legal means, including but not limited to seeking a pretrial injunction, filing a lawsuit, and requesting an investigation by the relevant administrative authorities.

At the same time, to spread the news, Samsung posted an announcement on its international official Weibo account and official website, along with a series of supporting documents explaining the events that led it to send a lawyer's letter to Shenma Technology Company.

"Shenma Technology Company stole the latest research results from our laboratories and illegally profited from it on a massive scale, causing our company substantial losses.

"Our company will defend its rights through legal channels.

"Many people interested in the Phantom Projector have probably taken one apart to find out why it performs so well.

"However, anyone familiar with projector products can see that its internal components are all commonly available projector parts.

"So why do these components, when assembled together, perform at two hundred percent?

"The reason is a driver board. The driver program it uses is a technology that belongs to a new era!

"We named this driver software Illusion Screen Technology. It uses an entirely new programming method, unlike traditional driver programs, and can fully bring out the capabilities of each projector component.

"To research this technology, Samsung Group invested a great deal of manpower and resources, and spent enormous sums of money. After three years of laboratory research, we were on the verge of success when nearly all of our research materials were stolen!

"On top of that, the person who stole them destroyed some of our key research data, delaying the final stage of our work by several months!

"Here is what happened..."

At this point, Samsung's statement presented a collection of documents related to the establishment of the Illusion Screen Technology research project. They included the names of the researchers involved, the location of the laboratory, a commemorative photo of the researchers with Samsung executives who had come to inspect the project, and suggestions for improving the driver program made during the research process, among other materials.

All of the documents were genuine—completely genuine. Anyone could verify them.

However, the project had not originally been conducted in a laboratory dedicated to driver technology, and it had made no major breakthroughs over the past few years.

This experiment was merely one of the thousands of technology research projects Samsung Group conducted each year. To maintain its position as a world leader, Samsung Group spent a substantial amount on research and development annually.

A mix of truth and falsehood was far more convincing.

The fact that the research project really existed made the whole story seem even more credible.

The next part of the statement included a video and supporting documents that supposedly proved Shenma Technology Company had stolen Samsung Group's research results.

The video showed a researcher in his fifties in a South Korean police station, with South Korean police officers standing beside him.

It was clear that the researcher had been arrested.

Looking utterly remorseful, he confessed to his crime in the video.

Blinded by money for a moment, he had stolen the laboratory's research results and found a buyer online. That buyer was a person from Daxia Country.

The researcher didn't know whether the buyer was Ning Yifan. The deal had been conducted entirely online, and they had never met in person.

The researcher first gave the buyer half of the research materials. After receiving the money, he handed over the rest. Later, at the buyer's request, he made another deal and deleted some key data from Samsung's laboratory, bringing the experiment's progress to a standstill for several months.

In the video, the researcher looked terrified as he laid out every detail. There were even chat logs between the two parties, bank transfer records, and other supporting documents.

Everything seemed perfectly plausible!

At the end of its announcement, Samsung Group issued another stern warning to Shenma Technology Company.

"Shenma Technology Company, immediately cease all infringing activities, withdraw your products from sale, and transfer to Samsung Group, unconditionally, the profits earned from selling the Phantom Projector over the past few months, as well as your factory and brand, to compensate Samsung Group for its substantial losses!"

To ensure the news reached more people as quickly as possible, Samsung even approved a special budget of ten million Daxia Coins to buy trending topics and online news placements, and to have its public relations team and online supporters spread the story across the internet.
