The emergency meeting bell echoed over the village as the clan leaders and elite jonin of the major families hurried over.
In the spacious conference room, the solemn atmosphere was so heavy it seemed one could wring water from it.
The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, sat in the seat of honor, smoke curling from his pipe and obscuring his deep-set eyes.
At his sides, the two advisors, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu, wore grave expressions.
Danzo, who had not been seen for a long time, sat behind Fugaku Uchiha, his gloomy gaze sweeping over everyone.
"Everyone."
The Third Hokage slowly spoke, his voice low and forceful.
"Sunagakure has officially declared war on Konoha. The border clashes have escalated into all-out war.
"I called you here today to hear your opinions."
As soon as he finished speaking, Hyuga Sakon, the Clan Leader of the Hyuga Clan, abruptly rose to his feet, a sharp glint flashing through his pale eyes.
"Third Hokage, Sunagakure dares to provoke Konoha. We must strike back with thunderous force!
"The Hyuga Clan is willing to serve as the vanguard, drive straight into Sunagakure's heartland, and let them know the price of angering Konoha!"
His voice rang with conviction, prompting several ninjas from the Radical Faction to nod in agreement.
However, even more clan leaders furrowed their brows.
Anyone could lead a charge. The purpose of this meeting was to plan for the war and come up with ideas.
Chiyo Uchiha sat in a corner, lightly tapping the table with his fingers. His expression was calm, as though this storm had nothing to do with him.
The Third Hokage's gaze swept over the crowd, taking in every expression.
It finally settled on Chiyo.
"Clan Leader Chiyo, what do you think?"
