"Ah! Teacher..."
"Why don't you just grab my neck instead? My clothes are terrible quality!"
"Shut up and open your eyes!"
"Or I'll strangle you to death!"
Ye Tian covered his mouth, speechless yet afraid to move recklessly.
He had no idea what Bibi Dong was trying to do.
When he had returned with breakfast, he found her already changed into a sharp, practical outfit. The moment they finished eating, she had grabbed him and leaped all the way down without another word.
The steamed bun he had eaten was about to come back up!
Still, Ye Tian knew Bibi Dong was right.
Ye Tian steadied himself and slowly lowered his hands.
He opened his eyes.
Seeing the mountain body about to smash into his face, his eyes widened and his breathing stopped.
Ye Tian hurriedly circulated the Soul Power in his body.
Only then did he feel a little better.
Skimming past mountain bodies again and again was damn exciting!
But after experiencing it, it was nothing special.
After only a few breaths,
the brief panic passed, and Ye Tian's tense body gradually relaxed.
Yet whenever Bibi Dong casually moved her wrist,
Ye Tian still worried that this temperamental woman would fling him away.
"Teacher, if you shake me again, I'll throw up on you!"
"Then try it."
Bibi Dong glanced at Ye Tian coldly. Seeing his pale little face, she snorted and stopped deliberately moving her wrist.
She was also somewhat surprised by Ye Tian's adaptability.
Bibi Dong had to admit it.
Ye Tian already possessed the basic qualities of a strong person. What a pity he was only Food System.
Once Bibi Dong stopped messing around, Ye Tian finally let out a breath of relief. He could not help asking, "Teacher, where are we going?"
"Soul Hunting."
Bibi Dong said lightly.
"Soul Hunting!"
Delight appeared in Ye Tian's eyes. He had never expected Bibi Dong to be so proactive.
With the way she usually ignored him,
Ye Tian had thought he would have to beg her to help him go Soul Hunting.
It seemed he had been narrow-minded.
When Bibi Dong acted normal, she was indeed quite normal.
"Then where are we going Soul Hunting?"
Ye Tian looked at the various buildings below and asked curiously.
He was not particularly interested in the enclosed Soul Hunting Forest. He wanted to witness the vastness and wildness of the Star Dou Great Forest.
"..."
Bibi Dong did not answer Ye Tian's question.
With several flashes, she brought Ye Tian down onto the flat ground in a smooth landing.
Ye Tian raised his eyes to look at the city wall before him.
He could not help Sighing at the power of Spirit Masters. In less than half an hour, they had crossed half the city.
Holding Ye Tian in one hand, Bibi Dong commanded majestically:
"Prepare a carriage bound for the Star Dou Great Forest immediately."
"Yes—!"
Upon hearing the order, the guard immediately accepted the command.
"Saintess, please wait a moment."
Words fell.
The captain of the guards sprang into action.
Quite a few people were curiously watching Ye Tian in Bibi Dong's hand.
Upon hearing their destination,
Ye Tian could not help showing delight, but when he met those gazes,
his face began to burn.
Being carried around by a woman like a monkey was truly humiliating.
"Saintess, the carriage is ready!"
Fortunately,
the captain of the guards was quite efficient and soon had the carriage prepared.
Three War Horses with Spirit Beast bloodlines,
along with a Soul King coachman.
The setup could not have been better.
"Set off immediately."
Bibi Dong nodded, grabbed Ye Tian, and darted into the carriage.
"Hyah—!"
The wheels turned, the War Horses galloped, and they soon left Spirit City.
Inside the carriage,
Bibi Dong and Ye Tian sat facing each other across a table.
Not long after they set out,
Ye Tian could not help opening the window and looking outside.
After all this time,
he had never seen the scenery outside Spirit City.
"Sit properly."
Bibi Dong's voice rang out.
Ye Tian turned around.
Under her imposing gaze, he slowly straightened his back and sat upright.
Bibi Dong withdrew her threatening gaze and said casually, "Next, I'll teach you how to distinguish the ages of Spirit Beasts."
Ye Tian looked at Bibi Dong's empty hands.
His expression turned strange.
"Teacher, are you just going to tell me?"
"Don't you have any teaching materials, like a Spirit Beast Compendium? I heard this kind of thing mainly relies on personal reading and experience, right?"
Bibi Dong looked at Ye Tian lightly. There was no lack of approval in her eyes, though amusement was hidden within them as well.
"Listen to me first."
"Alright."
Ye Tian looked curious. He was still quite eager to learn about this.
"Cough cough."
Bibi Dong cleared her throat for effect and explained:
"The simplest and crudest way to determine a Spirit Beast's age is by looking at the color of its Soul Power. It corresponds to the color of Soul Rings. White Soul Power corresponds to ten-year Spirit Beasts, and so on. Special Spirit Beasts are exceptions."
"Mm, I know that."
Ye Tian nodded, listening attentively as he urged her on with interest:
"What else?"
"Just as you said, this sort of thing depends entirely on personal accumulation. So take this Spirit Beast Compendium and read it. I'll test you at any time."
Bibi Dong's airy words
made Ye Tian's face stiffen. It felt as though he had fed his true heart to dogs, leaving him thoroughly disgusted.
Bibi Dong smiled faintly.
With a casual flick of her hand, a black streamer flew above Ye Tian's head before dropping down.
"Gasp—!"
Ye Tian's eyes widened. Before he could complain,
he hastily raised his hands and caught the enormous object, larger and thicker than his own body.
It definitely weighed over fifty pounds!
"Read this book carefully. You can also choose Spirit Beasts that catch your eye. It contains all sorts of notes I made as well, including the classification system for Spirit Masters. It's all quite simple, so study hard."
Bibi Dong Waved Hand, then propped up her forehead and closed her eyes to rest.
It had been a long time since she had felt this good.
"I..."
Ye Tian looked at the book before him and really wanted to curse.
But as a Spirit Master, he had to learn this stuff. Even though Ye Tian roughly knew how to choose Spirit Beasts,
the premise was that he needed to understand Spirit Beasts well enough.
Soul Rings,
in Ye Tian's view, were a medium that could attach one or more traits of a Spirit Beast to a Martial Soul and turn them into a Spirit Master's Spirit Skills.
Take dog-type Spirit Beasts, for example.
If a Spirit Master absorbed a dog's Soul Ring, they might gain a powerful sense of smell, terrifying teeth, a strong physique, or even berserk transformation. They could also gain the dog's own attack skills, perhaps sonic attacks through barking, the physical attack of a Yellow Dog urinating, chemical attacks such as a puppy farting, and so on.
They could even use a dog's habits to make an enemy smell like shit, allowing them to track and locate the target so their Spirit Skills would not miss.
This kind of mechanism
was actually fairly easy to understand.
The more prominent a Spirit Beast's trait was, and the more compatible it was with a Spirit Master's Martial Soul,
the greater the chance of obtaining that trait.
And the same trait, when attached to different Martial Souls, could manifest differently.
For example, the Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul and Snake Beast Martial Souls.
After absorbing a Mandala Snake, both could obtain the traits of poison and binding.
But the methods of binding might differ.
A Blue Silver Grass Spirit Master used grass to bind opponents, while a Snake Martial Soul Spirit Master softened and transformed their body into a snake to bind enemies at close range.
Opening the great work before him,
Ye Tian quickly became absorbed in it. The elegant small characters added later on the pages indeed contained some unique insights.
There was also a pen tucked inside the book.
Ye Tian had brought over his old study habits and could not help marking key points.
From time to time, he also wrote down possible Spirit Skills.
Bibi Dong rested her head on her hand with her eyes closed. When she opened them to sneak a look, she saw Ye Tian writing.
Interested, she shifted her gaze to the book.
When she saw what Ye Tian had written, including additions to her notes, Bibi Dong could not help sitting upright, shock appearing in her eyes.
Was this kid really some kind of monster?
A Theoretical Genius?
He had actually written the correct answers beneath questions she had written back then—answers that only she had learned through practice in the entire Soul Master World!
