Background / History

Wei Yangyun serves as a clerk in Fangcheng's Town Martial Division and is aligned with the Xu Family. He first openly supports He An when Meng Cao attempts to attack him in the division, invoking the division's rules to stop the confrontation. He leaves He An with an open offer of assistance, having recognized his courage and loyalty. 29

During the River Sacrifice Festival, Wei Yangyun privately reveals his Xu Family affiliation and attempts to recruit He An. He offers protection for He An and his elder brother's family, as well as cultivation resources, but accepts He An's refusal rather than turning goodwill into hostility. 47

He later invites He An to join a hunt for a sentient Tiger Demon, believing direct observation of the creature will help him develop Tiger Strength through Five-Animal Boxing. He also tries to arrange a match between He An and his niece, Zuo Ying. 61
