Background / History

Muyang City was a relatively underdeveloped, bottom-tier city in Great Xia. Its weak cultivation environment and limited resources were reflected in its lack of a defensive Formation Pattern and the absence of any Star Gang Realm Martial Artist before the Beast Tide crisis. 88 97

Qin Chen grew up in the city and attended Muyang City No. 3 High School. His early cultivation, conflict with He Yi, and rise through the Body Tempering Realm all took place there. 1 3 23

The Myriad Spirits Holy Hall established a Corrupt Abyss Secret Realm anchor beneath the city. The anchor could have released Corrupt Abyss Blood Mist into Muyang City, turning residents into Blood Puppet Beasts; after its exposure, the organization destroyed the anchor using an early-warning Formation Pattern. 53 73

During the Dongjiang Province Beast Tide, Muyang City became the most fiercely targeted city because it was the provincial capital. Its Martial Artists defended the walls against Fierce Beasts while Qin Chen, Lin Fan, Wang Qun, and later Mu Tiange fought to protect the city from increasingly powerful threats. 88 94 100

Mu Tiange shielded Muyang City from the aftermath of his battle with Xiang Qu and the Blood Flood Dragon. The city itself avoided catastrophic destruction, though part of its walls collapsed and the surrounding land, roads, and rail lines were devastated. 100 101 105 111

A year later, Muyang City had not declined despite the ruined outskirts. It had become noticeably more luxurious, and major organizations such as the Myriad Treasure Pavilion had established branches there. 238

Corrupt Abyss Secret Realm Plot

The Myriad Spirits Holy Hall’s local operation centered on a Corrupt Abyss Secret Realm anchor. Qin Chen discovered that the secret realm’s blood mist could spread into Muyang City and threaten its entire population. 53

After Qin Chen reported the danger, investigations confirmed that an anchor had existed in Muyang City. However, its operators detected exposure and destroyed it before authorities could secure it. 73

Dongjiang Province Beast Tide

A massive Fierce Beast horde reached Muyang City’s walls during the crisis. The city’s initial barrage slowed the horde, but the poorly equipped walls barely endured the impact. 88

Qin Chen became a decisive defender, massacring Fierce Beasts and eliminating Star Core Realm enemies while in his Bursting State. His actions helped turn the battle in Muyang City’s favor. 91 96

The battle escalated when Xiang Qu gathered Blood Fiend Energy from beast-tide battlefields across Dongjiang Province to empower a Blood Flood Dragon. Mu Tiange’s barrier protected Muyang City from the devastating shockwaves of the ensuing Void Breaking Realm battle. 100 101
