History

Shrek Academy was founded ten thousand years ago to cultivate exceptional talents. The First Generation Sect Master of the Tang Sect graduated from the academy, and the seven students of that era established its first period of glory; they were later commemorated as the original Shrek Seven Devils. 6

Four thousand years ago, during the war that followed the collision of the Sun Moon and Star Luo Continents, distrust among the three Douluo empires led to repeated defeats. A Shrek dean rallied nearly sixty Titled Douluo-level experts, temporarily commanded the three armies, and led them to victory over the Sun Moon Empire’s forces. 6

Following the war, Shrek became an independent entity rather than the property of any nation. Its later deans maintained that status by treating every nation equally, refusing to maintain a private army, and limiting the academy’s teaching staff. 6

The academy later became the continent’s foremost Soul Master institution. Its strength and neutrality make it a major deterrent against the Sun Moon Empire and a force expected to mediate disputes or respond to continental threats. 6 71 278

Shrek City

Shrek Academy is situated within Shrek City, a large commercial city known for its public order. Merchants from the three empires use it for cross-border trade. 6

The city is also a heavily fortified defensive stronghold facing the Star Dou Great Forest, serving as a key line of defense against Soul Beasts for the three great empires. 422

Sea God's Pavilion

Sea God's Pavilion holds the academy’s highest authority. Mu En, the Dragon God Douluo, acted as its Pavilion Master and exercised final authority over major institutional decisions. 49 129

Mu En later entrusted Jiang Yuheng with helping transform Shrek for a changing era, particularly through Soul Tool development and efforts to reduce Spirit Beast slaughter. He also offered Jiang Yuheng the position of Vice Pavilion Master. 129

Admissions and Education

Shrek accepts students regardless of background if they have a recommendation and pass its entrance examination. Senior students assisting with enrollment are at least Three-Ring Spirit Elders. 56

Its standards are deliberately severe. Freshman assessments are organized across fifty areas, and the academy conducts annual eliminations; its survival-of-the-fittest environment is presented as a reason for Shrek’s long-term prosperity. 27

In a later-era entrance examination, physical-test results do not count toward grades. Prospective students are nevertheless warned that Shrek is a gathering place for geniuses and must demonstrate what makes them unique to remain. 790

Martial Soul and Soul Engineering Departments

Shrek maintains separate Martial Soul and Soul Engineering Departments. Soul Engineering students were previously trained in the Martial Soul Department, meaning their Martial Souls are still considered exceptional even if their paths diverge. 154

Historically, Shrek treated Soul Tools as external objects and believed a Spirit Master’s combat should remain pure, leaving it reluctant to cultivate students in both Martial Soul and Soul Tool paths. Jiang Yuheng’s emergence as such a student prompted senior figures to reconsider this position. 51

Shrek’s Soul Engineering Department lagged behind the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, whose students specialized in Soul Tool development. During Jiang Yuheng’s exchange studies, Shrek received more than a thousand Soul Tool design blueprints; even without the Sun Moon Empire’s most advanced designs, these plans were said to advance the department by a century. 154 189

The title Shrek Seven Devils honors the seven students who created the academy’s first era of glory. In the modern era, representing Shrek as one of the Seven Devils is regarded as one of the highest honors available to a Soul Master. 6 71

Reserve candidates must continue to be evaluated, become inner-court students, and demonstrate sufficient strength before officially representing the academy. 71

Exchange with Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy

Shrek arranged a reciprocal student exchange with the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy. Yan Shaozhe led Shrek’s Soul Engineering Department students to the Sun Moon Empire, while Sun Moon students entered Shrek. 154 155

Evil Soul Master Attack

Shrek Academy was attacked by Evil Soul Masters, including four Titled Douluo. The attackers targeted Ma Xiaotao and forcibly awakened her dark attribute, causing her to lose reason and humanity until Mu En expended life force to suppress her condition. 148

Beast Tide

Di Tian launched a beast tide against Shrek after accusing humanity of harming the Auspicious Beast and stealing the Power of Destiny. Shrek City initially resisted using high-explosive shells and Soul Tool Great Cannons, while Shrek’s elders fought Soul Beast leaders directly. 423 425

Wartime Neutrality
