Background / History

In his previous life, Tang San was an outer disciple of the Tang Sect. After stealing its ultimate techniques, he was driven to leap from a cliff. In his new life, he relies on those inherited arts to cultivate and forge hidden weapons. 12

Tang San grew up alongside Xiao Wu and regarded protecting her as his foremost responsibility. Although he initially frames their bond as sibling-like, he becomes intensely possessive when Xiao Wu begins gravitating toward Su Bai at Shrek Academy. 5 8

He entered Shrek Academy as a Blue Silver Grass Spirit Master with two yellow Spirit Rings. During the assessment against Zhao Wuji, he used his first Spirit Ability, Entangle, to bind the Spirit Saint. 6 7

Su Bai's closeness with Xiao Wu turns Tang San's resentment into open hostility. He attempts to assassinate Su Bai with a poisoned hidden blade, but Su Bai evades the attack with Kirin Soars. 12 Tang San later discovers that Su Bai knows and teaches Tang Sect secret arts, including Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon, shattering his belief that he alone possessed those techniques in this world. 39

Following repeated defeats and humiliations, Tang San commits himself to revenge through Tang Sect hidden weapons, poisons, and the support of Yu Xiaogang's team. His plans expand from defeating Su Bai in battle to targeting Su Bai's companions outside the arena. 177 191

Su Bai's conquest of A Yin permanently eliminates Tang San's possibility of awakening the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, leaving his first Martial Soul as ordinary Blue Silver Grass. 202 Tang Hao is subsequently killed by A Yin under Su Bai's command, depriving Tang San of his father and principal protector. 209

Personality

Tang San is protective, proud, and deeply attached to the people he considers his own, particularly Xiao Wu. Her independence and attachment to Su Bai provoke jealousy that repeatedly overrides his caution, including his attempted attack on Su Bai. 5 12

He is also resilient and calculating. Rather than abandoning revenge after defeat, he analyzes opponents, prepares poisons and mechanical weapons, and seeks stronger allies and resources. 191 439 His determination is paired with a willingness to use assassination and collateral threats against Su Bai's companions. 191

Tang San retains fierce loyalty toward Yu Xiaogang. Even after privately questioning his teacher's theories, he publicly accepts blame for the team's defeat and reaffirms his commitment to Yu Xiaogang. 190 191
