Bibi Dong was once an innocent, kind-hearted girl and the Holy Maiden of Spirit Hall. Her teacher, Qian Xunji, opposed her relationship with Yu Xiaogang and sought to prevent her from leaving. The traumatic secret-chamber memory revisited in her dreams shows him threatening to bind her permanently to himself and Spirit Hall through forced childbearing 43 214.

Her hatred of Qian Xunji became entangled with her feelings toward their daughter, Qian Renxue.
