Background / History

Tang San is Ah Yin's son and Tang Chen's younger brother, though Tang Chen initially regards him as an unaware “Son of Destiny” shaped by the world's rules. Tang San is approximately a year younger than Tang Chen and is expected to inherit both the Sea God and Asura God positions. 1

Before arriving in the Douluo Continent, Tang San lived as an outer disciple of the Tang Sect. The Golden Ranking exposes that he stole inner-sect techniques and the sect leader's token, then jumped from Ghost Worry Cliff after being confronted by the elders. 89

At Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy, Tang San discovers with his Purple Demon Eyes that Xiao Wu is a hundred-thousand-year soul beast. The Golden Ranking later reveals that he concealed this knowledge, approached her under the name of sworn siblinghood, and intended to use her for a hundred-thousand-year soul ring. 90

Tang San initially presents himself as calm, confident, and protective toward his companions. He reassures the Shrek group during crises and leads the Heaven Dou forces in opposition to Martial Soul Hall. 6 14

Conflict with Tang Chen

Tang San first clashes directly with Tang Chen in the extreme north after attempting to force the Ice Empress and Snow Empress into submission. Tang Chen shields and heals the empresses, blocks Tang San's trident attack, and exposes the gulf between their power. 46 47

Tang San later attacks the Myriad Demon King to seize its power, prompting Tang Chen to intervene and save the spirit beast. Their confrontation escalates into a god-level conflict in which Tang San relies on Asura power to escape. 59 60
