Fis said, "After obtaining the Blood God's power, I will overcome the weaknesses of vampires, such as their fear of sunlight, silver, and garlic. Furthermore, the Blood God's ability to infect humans and turn them into the Blood Clan will be limitless. Humanity will have only one fate: to be raised as livestock for the Blood Clan."
"Moreover, I will not keep this method to myself. As a bargaining chip for mutual benefit, I have sold it to other powerful figures within the Blood Clan. Even if you are lucky enough to escape today and find me to deal with me, it will still be futile."
Crack!
Blade shattered the monitor with a casual punch. Fis's image reappeared on another screen, his voice laced with a mocking laugh echoing from the speakers: "What are you waiting for, Pearl? Make your move!"
Pearl, weighing eight hundred jin, let out a sinister chuckle, tossed aside the keyboard resting on his belly, and roared, "Daywalker, today is your doomsday! I'm eager to taste what you're like!"
In Blade's eyes, Pearl's stats were analyzed and listed by the scanner. The reading for his body temperature rapidly climbed, soon exceeding one hundred degrees Celsius.
As a result, the water within Pearl's body boiled instantly. A massive blast of air pushed Blade back several meters. The displays surrounding Pearl shattered, showering sparks. Some flammable wiring ignited, and a pungent odor quickly spread.
Blade was unharmed. He regained his balance before even landing and stood firm.
He looked up towards Pearl's location, which was now shrouded in smoke and flames. Heavy footsteps could be heard approaching Blade from that direction.
It was a colossal bipedal creature, over two meters tall. Its skin was thick and calcified, layered like rhinoceros hide, forming a natural armor. It bore strange patterns of rose red, lemon yellow, and lake blue. Its limbs were thick, with three-toed hooves. Sharp, tusk-like spikes protruded from the outside of its arm joints.
Its face was terrifyingly ferocious, with a protruding snout. Two pairs of fangs, one large and one small, jutted out from its lips, curling upwards. It resembled a wild boar's face.
This horrifying monster seemed to be a fusion of human, rhinoceros, and wild boar. The biological computer at its waist flashed a warning: "Extremely Dangerous, Evacuate Immediately." The detector's readings were alarmingly high, with every stat overwhelmingly crushing Blade's.
"The Kingdom of Propellers' Destruction. That is the name of my current state," the monster said in a deep voice. "You can also call me by my previous name, Pearl."
Both Daiken Fis and Victor, coveting the power of the Pureblood Thirteen Elders, had formed an alliance at some point. As a trade for their cooperation, Victor had given Daiken Fis several injections of Amazon Cells, and Daiken Fis had granted Victor access to the data within the Book of the Blood God. Victor would receive a complete version after its decryption.
Pearl, a vampire who managed the database for Daiken Fis and spearheaded the translation of the Book of the Blood God, would certainly not be stingy. He gave him one of the rare injection doses to increase his survival rate in case of an emergency.
However, after the injection, Pearl's tastes changed. Human blood no longer tasted good, even the highest quality blood from meticulously chosen sources. Instead, the vampires who regularly delivered his food became incredibly appetizing.
Fortunately, as a disguise, a bar frequented by Pureblood Vampires was just a wall away. Kidnapping one every few days went unnoticed—especially with the constant stream of vampire hunters culling vampires. The slain vampires usually turned to ash due to silver weapons, leaving no trace for investigation.
The reason for this situation was actually Wei Xiuming's doing. Human emotional changes are influenced by various hormones, such as phenethylamine, norepinephrine, and dopamine, which affect human love.
Therefore, there is no such thing as lasting love in the world, as love hormones are not secreted indefinitely.
When creating the so-called Amazon Cells, Wei Xiuming made corresponding adjustments, causing a hormonal imbalance in vampires who received the injection, affecting their senses. For instance, the taste of their own kind became more delicious than humans.
However, due to his massive fat reserves, the Fang Vampire form Pearl took after injecting the Amazon Cells was exceptionally powerful. Perhaps it was due to his inherent strength as a Pureblood Vampire, or the magical knowledge he inadvertently acquired while deciphering the Book of the Blood God for a long time, Pearl's strength surpassed the threshold set by Wei Xiuming. In short, even in his metallic, fully armored state, the current Blade was no match for Pearl.
In his armored form, Blade's limb strength was more destructive than conventional firearms, yet it couldn't penetrate Pearl's calcified hide to cause internal damage. The vampire-dissolving toxins injected from his fingertips and body hair were also ineffective. It was even debatable whether toxins specifically developed for the Blood Clan would work on a Fang Vampire.
By the time Wei Xiuming led his team through the streets and arrived at the hidden vampire bar, they saw Blade being violently thrown against a wall, creating a deep pit in the reinforced concrete. Blade was half-embedded in the wall, a fate worse than being hit by a car.
The squad leader of the action team immediately contacted the remaining members via internal communicator: "What happened?!"
A "standby" team member replied, "There was an explosion just now. All the monitoring and listening devices on Blade were destroyed. The personnel responsible for surveillance suffered temporary hearing loss due to the noise."
"Alright, no need for further explanation," Wei Xiuming waved his hand. "To beat Blade in his transformed state like this, the opponent must be an extraordinary monster. Regardless of whether we received advance notice, we need to deal with it."
"The next step is simple. Aim your weapons at that monster and unleash all your firepower."
Whistler did not follow the action team but rushed to Blade's side to check on him. "Brooks, are you alright? Are you still conscious?"
Blade was certainly not in good condition. After several heavy blows, if he hadn't been in his cell-metalized state, he would have likely been reduced to a pulp. However, his armor's outer layer had cracked, and his internal organs had suffered some damage. His regenerative abilities could no longer keep up with the toxin's erosion.
Detecting Blade's physical condition, Kivat on his waist immediately injected an antidote through the connected blood vessels. After the toxin was neutralized, Blade quickly reverted to his human form.
The change in size allowed Blade to break free from the wall. Whistler immediately caught him. Seeing Blade's lips move as he almost lost consciousness, Whistler quickly leaned his ear close to his mouth to listen.
He then heard Blade weakly murmur, "Run, that monster is too terrifying."
Though his consciousness was fading, Blade kept repeating the same sentence, trying to get Whistler and the others to avoid fighting the Fang Vampire. It was not an opponent their weapons could handle.
