Background / History

Wei Xiuming is a transmigrator who awakens in the engineered, mind-controlled body known as Weapon X during a conflict among the X-Men, Magneto’s faction, and Colonel William Stryker’s military forces. The original host’s consciousness initially shields him; after a Mind Storm breaks the existing mental control, Wei Xiuming secures command of the body. 1

While escaping the base, he defeats the Infinite Flow Male Protagonist, takes his Adamantium sword, and is forcibly transported by the opponent’s ring onto a Skrull spaceship. He takes command of the vessel and orders it toward Earth. 2

At Osborn Group, Wei Xiuming pursues human-enhancement research. He intends to develop Magnetic Field Rotation, replicate Spider-Man-style enhancement, and test procedures on others before using them on himself. 8 Under the identity of Doctor Death, he develops Amazon Cells and seeks vampire investment for the technology. 16

His growing influence at Osborn Group brings him into conflict with entrenched capital interests. He declares an intention to eliminate vampires and seize their technology for human advancement, while Doctor Death’s clone body is destroyed by Bill. 17 His encounter with the Ancient One exposes both his difficulty controlling Magnetic Field Rotation and the danger posed by magic. 18

After the eradication of vampires destabilizes global finance, Wei Xiuming inherits their wealth and travels to Kamar-Taj to study magic. He spends roughly six months there, develops portal-making knowledge, and survives contact with Dimensional Demon Gods only because the Ancient One rescues him with the Eye of Agamotto. 59 63

Later, he works with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Divine Spear Bureau against extraterrestrial and superhuman threats.
