After accepting the child as his disciple, Xuandu named him Fuxi.
At Shouyang Palace, Nuwa was relieved to see that Fuxi had been born safely.
Nuwa brought out the Innate Supreme Treasure, the Seven Heavenly Light Divine Blades, and the Innate Supreme Treasure Su Mu had left her, the Primordial Chaos Axe. Together, the two treasures concealed the secrets of Heaven.
Moreover, the secrets of Heaven were completely obscured during the Great Tribulation.
Nuwa used the Seven Heavenly Light Divine Blades to sever her Dao Fruit as a Heavenly Dao Saint.
In an instant, Nuwa's cultivation fell from the Seventh Heaven of Sainthood to the Sixth Heaven, then dropped straight to the Quasi-Saint peak.
Since Nuwa wanted to attain the Primordial Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm, her cultivation fell all the way to the peak of the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm.
Nuwa was extremely weak at the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm, but fortunately, the Human Race's destiny entered her body and made up for her weakened state.
After severing her Dao Fruit, Nuwa began comprehending and cultivating the Law of Creation.
When Su Mu sensed that Nuwa had severed her Saintly Dao Fruit, he used the Chaos Bead to help conceal the secrets of Heaven at Shouyang Mountain.
Chaos Purple Cloud Palace.
Dao Ancestor Hongjun suddenly fell out of the Dao Integration Realm. Horrified, he tried to divine what had happened.
But this was the period of the Great Tribulation, when the secrets of Heaven could not be divined. Even the Heavenly Dao could not divine them, so he had no choice but to wait until the tribulation ended.
East Sea Coast.
After Fuxi was born, he could speak at the age of one. His gift for language was astonishing.
By the time he was three, he had already displayed extraordinary intelligence and insight.
He was curious about the world, constantly observing his surroundings and asking thought-provoking questions.
His intelligence amazed everyone, and they all believed he would accomplish great things in the future.
By the age of five, Fuxi had begun studying writing, arithmetic, and other subjects. He learned incredibly quickly and soon mastered them.
He also enjoyed listening to his elders recount ancient legends and tales, drawing wisdom and inspiration from them.
When Fuxi was ten, the chief of the Huaxu Tribe began keeping him close. Through watching and learning, Fuxi became capable of handling some of the tribe's simpler affairs.
As time passed and the chief of the Huaxu Tribe grew old, Fuxi took over as chief and led the tribespeople in developing their home.
Fuxi saw that his people caught fish by wading into the river and grabbing them by hand, a slow and tiring process. Then he watched a spider hunt its prey.
He found some vines and wove them together into a simple fishing net.
Fuxi lowered the vine net into the river. When he pulled it out again, it was full of fish.
After his experiment succeeded, Fuxi found the men of the tribe and had them cut vines. He showed the women how to weave them into nets.
Once the nets were ready, he led the men to the river with them.
One man asked curiously, "Chief, what is this thing for?"
Fuxi replied, "This net is for catching fish."
"Catching fish? This vine net can catch fish? But we can already catch plenty with our hands every day." Though the man was still doubtful, he put the net into the river.
When he pulled it out and saw that it was full of fish, everyone exclaimed, "So many fish! This is much faster than catching them with our hands. This net saves so much time and effort."
Fuxi said to the man, "You're in charge of teaching everyone how to make these fishing nets, so everyone in the tribe can make and use them."
Just then, a young man came running toward Fuxi, shouting, "Chief, something's wrong! A tribesman went hunting in the mountains and was gored by a wild boar!"
Fuxi returned to the tribe and saw a middle-aged man lying on the ground, his lower leg covered in blood. His wife was already bandaging the wound.
Fuxi looked at the injured man, then turned to the tribespeople beside him. "For now, nobody should go hunting in the mountains."
"Chief, if we don't hunt in the mountains, we'll have nothing to eat."
"Don't worry. I'll find a solution." After saying this, Fuxi left the tribe.
After leaving, Fuxi went into the mountains. He saw many animals and observed and recorded them as he went.
He discovered that some animals were gentle. If they were raised at home, the people would no longer need to hunt in the mountains.
Excitedly, he ran down the mountain, gathered a group of strong men, and led them back into the mountains.
He had them catch many wild chickens, wild ducks, rabbits, wild goats, wild cattle, and some young wild boars.
After they brought the animals back to the tribe, he had them use branches to fence off an area to raise them in. They clipped the wings of those that could fly.
After the animals had been domesticated for some time, the tribespeople told Fuxi that the animals they had caught earlier had multiplied greatly.
If they raised them properly, they would no longer have to risk their lives hunting in the mountains.
Fuxi called chickens and ducks poultry, and sheep, cattle, and pigs livestock.
Under Fuxi's leadership, the Huaxu Tribe began to grow steadily.
Previously, it had been only a small tribe with a modest population.
As time passed, the nearby tribes heard about the Huaxu Tribe and came to join them.
The Huaxu Tribe attracted people from nearby areas to settle there. These new residents brought different skills and cultures, further encouraging the tribe's development.
Thanks to its favorable location, more and more tribes merged with the Huaxu Tribe.
Fuxi's name also reached the ears of the chiefs of many Human Race tribes.
They believed Fuxi was knowledgeable and had made great contributions to the development of the Human Race.
After a long period of thought and discussion, all the tribal chiefs finally reached a unanimous decision: they would appoint Fuxi as the leader of all the tribes and give him the important position of Grand Chief!
This meant Fuxi would become the leader of the entire tribal alliance, with greater power and responsibility.
During the selection process, each tribe had the chance to express its wishes, and they all showed Fuxi great trust and support.
They believed Fuxi had exceptional leadership, wisdom, and courage, and could lead them toward a prosperous future.
Fuxi, too, felt the weight of his responsibility and said he would do everything in his power to live up to their expectations.
Fuxi noticed that people spent much of each day with nothing to do.
Inspired by his companion spirit treasure, the Fuxi Qin, he made zithers and lutes for people to enjoy and cultivate their sensibilities.
With musical instruments, life among the Human Race became richer and more colorful.
People began playing music and enjoying it in all kinds of ways.
They gathered to appreciate beautiful melodies together, savoring the joy and emotional resonance that music brought.
Some played traditional instruments like the guqin and guzheng, expressing their innermost thoughts through lingering notes. Others preferred wind instruments like the flute and xiao, sending their clear tones ringing through the air. Still others excelled at percussion instruments such as drums and gongs, using powerful rhythms to stir up energy and passion.
In the world of music, people freely expressed their creativity and imagination.
They composed beautiful, moving tunes that spread through the streets and alleys, becoming a shared memory and part of their cultural heritage.
Over time, the craft of making instruments continued to improve and develop.
People invented more kinds of instruments, making musical expression more diverse and nuanced.
From simple bamboo flutes to complex orchestras, every instrument reflected the fruits of human wisdom.
Music also became part of everyday life. At holiday gatherings, people sang and danced together.
During celebrations, cheerful melodies lifted everyone's spirits, helping them forget all their troubles and unhappiness.
One day, Fuxi was inspecting the tribes when he arrived at one where the people were struggling to irrigate their fields.
They relied on rain to water their crops, but a recent drought had left them with little rain, causing their plants to wither.
Fuxi thought for a moment and came up with a solution. He taught the people to dig channels and divert river water to irrigate their fields.
Everyone responded eagerly, throwing themselves into the construction of the irrigation system.
Before long, clear channels ran throughout the fields, their water steadily nourishing the parched land.
The crops recovered, and the people's hopes for a bountiful harvest were rekindled.
Once again, Fuxi's wisdom and leadership were on display. He cared not only about the people's material well-being but also about agricultural development and the rational use of resources.
This measure greatly increased the grain output of every tribe, and the people respected and appreciated Fuxi even more.
Yet the incident left Fuxi deep in thought.
He couldn't help wondering how wonderful it would be if there were a way to know what the weather would be like in advance!
That way, people could arrange their lives and work according to changes in the weather.
If they knew the weather would be clear, they could go out and work without worry. If it was overcast or rainy, they could prepare for the rain and avoid unnecessary losses.
The idea took deep root in Fuxi's mind, and he decided to find a way to predict the weather.
Fuxi began carefully observing the natural phenomena around him, hoping to find some clues.
He considered principles such as the mutual opposition of yin and yang, but then he hit a bottleneck and could make no further progress.
Xuandu knew the reason, so he returned to the Eight Sceneries Palace on Kunlun Mountain.
"Teacher, Fuxi is now preparing to create the Eight Trigrams, but without the River Diagram and Luo Shu, he hasn't made any progress." Xuandu cupped his hands and told Taiqing Laozi about Fuxi's recent situation.
"Xuandu, return for now. I'll personally make a trip to the North Sea." After saying this, Taiqing Laozi headed to the North Sea.
When Taiqing Laozi arrived at the North Sea, Kunpeng, who was in the Demon Master Palace, sensed his presence.
Kunpeng immediately appeared before Taiqing Laozi and greeted him with cupped hands. "I pay my respects to Taiqing Saint. I didn't know you were coming, so I failed to welcome you. Please forgive me, Saint."
"Daoist Kunpeng, I've come to borrow something from you. I hope you'll lend it to me," Taiqing said directly.
Kunpeng wanted to refuse, but the other party was a Saint. Beneath a Saint, all were ants.
So Kunpeng asked, "May I ask what you wish to borrow, Saint?"
"The River Diagram and Luo Shu," Taiqing Laozi replied.
Kunpeng reluctantly took out the River Diagram and Luo Shu and handed them to Taiqing Laozi. He then asked, "How long will you borrow them for, Taiqing Saint?"
"I'll return them within a hundred years." After saying this, Taiqing Laozi left at once.
After obtaining the River Diagram and Luo Shu, Taiqing Laozi sent them to Great Master Xuandu.
Great Master Xuandu found a spirit tortoise and placed the River Diagram and Luo Shu on its shell.
Then he released the tortoise into the river and let it swim freely.
Lost in thought, Fuxi wandered to the riverbank without realizing it. There he saw the River Diagram and Luo Shu on the tortoise's back. He gazed at them, pondering their mysteries.
Time passed, and at last Fuxi understood the secrets of the River Diagram and Luo Shu.
Using yin and yang as his foundation and combining them with the patterns of change in all things under Heaven and Earth, he created the Primordial Eight Trigrams: Qian, Kun, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Li, Gen, and Dui.
Everyone was astonished by the birth of the Eight Trigrams. They contained boundless wisdom and power, and could predict the weather and guide people's lives.
Fuxi also established the Twenty-four Solar Terms so the Human Race could better predict the weather.
From then on, Fuxi's renown spread even further, and his wisdom traveled across the Nine Provinces. The people regarded him with reverence, and under his leadership, the Huaxu Tribe grew ever stronger.
After that, people no longer called Fuxi the Grand Chief. Instead, they called him the Co-Lord.
Su Mu saw that Fuxi had completed his accumulation of merit, and that the second Human Sovereign, the Earth Sovereign Shennong, was about to be born.
