Background / History

Nuwa created the Human Race and attained sainthood through that act. Despite being their Holy Mother, she initially left humanity to fend for itself, causing the Human Race's destiny—and her own cultivation—to decline. After hearing Su Mu's unspoken knowledge of this possible future, she accepted him as her disciple and began changing her approach to humanity 1.

Following Su Mu's proposal, Nuwa agreed to relocate the Human Race to Shouyang Mountain and made it her base of operations. As the Human Race developed, its rising destiny began restoring her stalled cultivation 1 2.

When the Heavenly Dao rejected her attempt to found the Human Religion, Nuwa appealed directly to the Great Dao instead. The Great Dao recognized her declaration, granting merit and elevating her to Saint Seventh Heaven. She established the Human Religion with the purpose of enlightening and protecting humanity 3.

The Demon Race's slaughter of humans left Nuwa furious and remorseful, especially after Dao Ancestor Hongjun prevented her from directly retaliating. She subsequently repaired the broken heavens with Five-colored Divine Stones and the North Sea Mysterious Turtle's sacrificed limbs, earning immense merit while preserving the turtle's true spirit and accepting him as a disciple 7.

Nuwa later severed her Heavenly Dao Saintly Dao Fruit, willingly abandoning Saint Seventh Heaven cultivation to pursue the Law of Creation and freedom from Heavenly Dao control. Her cultivation recovered through Human Race Destiny, Fuxi's enlightenment, and the growth of the Human Race 10 11.

Appearance

Nuwa is described as an exceptionally beautiful woman with a giant figure, a human upper body, and a snake tail 1.

  • Human torso and serpent-like lower body 1
  • Often portrayed with an elegant, imposing presence before disciples, Saints, and Human Race leaders 43 130
  • Her aura becomes markedly stronger after abandoning her Heavenly Dao Saintly Dao Fruit and cultivating the Law of Creation 10 12

Personality

Nuwa begins as distant toward the Human Race, but Su Mu's thoughts force her to confront the consequences of that indifference. She proves highly receptive to practical counsel, accepting the Human Race's relocation, founding the Human Religion, and later severing her Saintly Dao Fruit to forge an independent path 1 3 10.

She is fiercely protective once she commits herself to humanity. Nuwa repeatedly confronts stronger or politically entrenched enemies—including the Three Pure Ones, the Western Sect, Dao Ancestor Hongjun, and outside-domain invaders—rather than abandon the Human Race 4 57 120 177.

As a teacher, Nuwa is attentive and demanding. She recruits disciples based on their contributions to humanity, grants them techniques suited to their strengths, and instructs the Human Religion to support one another as a family 21 23 82.
