"Beast!"
"Who's the beast?"
"You!"
"How am I a beast?"
"You know perfectly well what you did!"
"Sorry, I've forgotten what just happened. If you really want me to remember, then let's reenact the scene."
"Get lost, you beast, don't touch me!"
"Still cursing, huh? I'm no delicate flower of a man. I've got plenty of strength and means! Cavalry company, attack!"
Half an hour later, the clouds dispersed and the rain ceased.
Shen Xiu lay on the creaking, dilapidated bed with a look of utter despair, like a soulless corpse.
"Still alive?" Chang Ping extended a finger as thick as a carrot and felt for Shen Xiu's breath.
Unexpectedly, Shen Xiu suddenly lunged, biting down on Chang Ping's finger.
"Damn it!"
Chang Ping was startled, and his palm, as large as a winnowing fan, immediately swatted out. With a mighty slap, Shen Xiu let go, proving easier to handle than a turtle.
Shen Xiu clutched her face, sat up, and leaned against the wall, glaring at Chang Ping with resentment.
"Hurry up and get dressed, then get out! I have to go to class soon!" Chang Ping bent down, picked up the scattered inner and outer clothes from the floor, and tossed them all at Shen Xiu.
Shen Xiu's bite earlier hadn't hurt at all; instead, it had made him feel a little good.
"A beast like you deserves to go to class?" Shen Xiu sneered as she put on her clothes. "That's right, you should learn how to respect others, especially women! Since your parents didn't teach you properly, let the academy's instructors do it."
Chang Ping understood that Shen Xiu was calling him ill-bred.
"Hmph!" Chang Ping snatched the undergarment Shen Xiu was putting on and threw it heavily onto the floor. "A venomous woman like you, who eats human hearts raw, deserves respect? You only deserve Dik!"
"No! I was wrong! I'll never dare to do it again! Spare me this time, I guarantee with my character that there won't be a next time." Shen Xiu hugged Chang Ping's arm, as thick as a utility pole, and pleaded desperately.
"You have character?" Chang Ping pushed her down and coldly snorted, "You only have class!"
Knock, knock, knock!
The melodious chime of a bell rang out, signaling the end of the lunch break.
Chang Ping left the dormitory right on time, striding purposefully towards the classroom.
Inside the dormitory, Shen Xiu lay slumped like a pile of mud, her long, fair legs dangling powerlessly off the edge of the bed. Her eyes were crossed, and her face wore an expression of utter devastation.
After an unknown amount of time, she gradually regained consciousness.
She felt a sense of surprise.
Ever since she was poisoned by the Old Monster's Blackwater Strange Poison, her entire body had been in pain, as if being gnawed by ten thousand ants.
But now, that feeling had vanished without a trace.
Shen Xiu suddenly recalled the Old Monster's words before he left: only an antidote or union with a man who truly loved her could alleviate the Blackwater Strange Poison.
"This beast truly likes me?" Shen Xiu frowned, a strange feeling welling up in her heart.
She quickly shook her head, no longer wanting to think about something more terrifying than death.
Dressing herself again, Shen Xiu was as flustered as a startled little fox, and she scurried out of the battlefield that had been ravaged by artillery fire, fleeing the instructor's dormitory area.
If she had known Chang Ping's dormitory was also here, she would have rather taken a nap on her desk in the office at noon than return to the instructor's dormitory.
Beginner Warrior Class.
Mornings were for theory lessons, and afternoons were for practical training, or in other words, physical education.
The students in the Beginner Warrior Class were taught how to properly train their bodies; haphazard training was not only unhelpful but also harmful.
Under the guidance of the instructor, everyone formed neat, separate lines for males and females and proceeded to the martial arts training grounds.
This was an open-air training ground, similar to a modern gym. Although not large, it was sufficient for the thirty-odd students in the Beginner Warrior Class.
The group ascended the large, circular platform in the center of the training grounds. Under the instructor's command, they spread out in rows of six, with a one-meter gap between each person.
"Everyone down, fifty push-ups on the spot!" the male instructor's voice boomed. "Remember, your form must be standard, don't lift your butts!"
Perhaps due to not resting well at noon and being overly exhausted, Chang Ping faltered and collapsed onto the training mat.
Before he could get up, the male instructor's large feet suddenly appeared before him.
"New here?"
Chang Ping grunted in response.
"Do fifty more!" On their first meeting, the male instructor gave Chang Ping a taste of his authority.
Shen Yue watched this scene with schadenfreude, thinking: Serves you right! You stole my seat!
"Why?" Chang Ping dusted the dirt off his hands and stood up. "Why do they only have to do fifty, while I have to do one hundred? You'd better give me a reasonable explanation."
Although Chang Ping was shorter than his instructor, his presence was in no way inferior.
"I'm the instructor, you're the student. Do as I say, and stop with the nonsense!" Seeing the newcomer dare to talk back, the instructor's anger flared.
"I won't do it, what are you gonna do about it?" Chang Ping glared, "You're the type of biased scumbag who doesn't deserve to be my instructor."
"Good! Very good!" The instructor laughed in extreme anger, "It's been many years since I've met a troublemaker like you. If you can beat me, you can do whatever you want in practical lessons from now on. However, if you lose, you'll obediently do as I say. How about it?"
"No problem! I was just looking to test my true strength anyway." Chang Ping was eager, "What do you want to spar with? Whether it's weapons or bare hands, I'll go all the way."
"What an arrogant brat! If we spar with weapons, people will say I'm bullying you, so let's spar with bare hands!" The instructor cracked his neck, "Everyone, stand up and watch from below the stage!"
The students exchanged glances and gradually descended the steps from the stage.
"Did this newcomer take the wrong medicine? After confronting the twin heroes of the Sacred Family, he's now confronting our instructor Tie Lang. I'm seriously doubting if he'll even survive until graduation."
"Tie Lang is a Gold two-star martial artist, proficient in Ming Jin, Dark Energy, and Hua Jin. Chang Ping challenging Tie Lang is like a moth to a flame; he'll probably be knocked down in one move."
"It's good that it's only a bare-handed spar. If it were weapons, Instructor Tie Lang could crack his skull open with one strike."
Most people didn't think highly of Chang Ping.
Shen Yue glanced at the Space Ring on his ring finger. He had already bought arsenic, just waiting for an opportunity to mix it into Chang Ping's food.
However, before poisoning this arrogant idiot to death, watching him get beaten to the ground wouldn't be bad either.
"He's really asking for death!" Shen Yue crossed his arms.
Chang Ping suddenly turned his head and swept a fierce gaze towards the audience below.
Shen Yue was instantly terrified and squatted down.
With nowhere to hide, Chang Ping immediately spotted the suspicious fellow.
"Talking behind my back, huh?" Chang Ping looked down at Shen Yue contemptuously, "After I take down this old geezer, I'll settle things with you!"
What? Take down Instructor Tie Lang?
Has this guy gone mad?
Everyone was speechless.
