At Lingxiao Hall,
When the Jade Emperor brought up the past, Yang Jian's expression shifted. He was just about to offer a few explanations when a flash of light appeared in the Jade Emperor's hand, and the Investiture of the Gods materialized before him.
"Here, take a look!"
"Hmm?"
Yang Jian took the Investiture of the Gods without thinking, then looked at the Jade Emperor in confusion.
Take a look?
At what?
It held the true spirits of all the Heavenly Court's gods. What was there to look at... Wait, what?!
At the Jade Emperor's insistence, Yang Jian opened the Investiture of the Gods. When he saw the list, completely blank, his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
"Wait, what?"
"Uncle, what happened? Is it broken? Could it... could Sect Leader Tongtian have done this himself?"
"Watch your words!"
The Jade Emperor was badly startled. He scrambled up from his dragon throne and glared at his nephew.
"You brat, you never know when to keep your mouth shut. What nonsense are you spouting?"
"Isn't it?"
Ignoring the Jade Emperor's concern, Yang Jian frowned and asked, "Other than those few Saints, who else in this world could damage a treasure bestowed by the Dao Ancestor?"
"Who else? Why, me, of course!"
Meeting Yang Jian's astonished gaze, the Jade Emperor pointed at himself. "Besides, who told you this thing was broken?"
"It's not broken? Then what happened?"
Yang Jian pointed at the blank list. Clearly, there was nothing left inside the Investiture of the Gods.
"I released them all!" The Jade Emperor smiled calmly.
"Released them?" Yang Jian's voice shot up an octave.
"That's right!"
The Jade Emperor nodded, not at all bothered by Yang Jian's stunned expression. He returned to his dragon throne and slumped back into it.
"Wait, what?"
