No Update Today; Taking a Break to Prepare for the Final Charge

This book is starting to wind down, folks. All that remains is the battle of wits between the Reincarnators and the Five Surnames, followed by the final Great Luo Sacrifice.

When I first started this book, I planned to make it longer. I figured I'd write five or six million characters and pad things out a bit. But then I realized that wouldn't work—readers could tell as soon as I started dragging things out, and they chewed Old Ghost out until he felt guilty. So I'd better stick to the rhythm and keep going honestly!

It'll probably come to around three million characters, give or take. But I still need to fill in all the holes and make sure I get the emotions that need to land just right.

This book hasn't really had any side arcs. It's followed the usual rise, development, turn, and resolution, sticking to the core storyline of the Reincarnators and the natives. Now they're saving each other in turn, and I think I've managed to bring out the heart of the story.

There may have been parts that didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but all Old Ghost can say is that his abilities are limited. I've really only been able to put in this much effort.

But the final part is far too important. Whether this book can reach for an even grander scale all depends on this last push.

I do have a little under ten thousand characters drafted, but it's all chopped up and flavorless, just a straight run-through of the outline. It needs a careful polish—or to be scrapped and rewritten—so I won't rush to update.
