Subduing the Black-Winged Thunder Roc

Neji, catching his breath slightly, took out the contract he had acquired this time to subdue a flying Summoned Beast. The contract had been purchased at a high price and there were two copies, both of which were master-servant contracts, unlike ordinary equal contracts.

Equal contracts are voluntarily signed by both parties after peaceful and friendly negotiation. They have no mandatory clauses or requirements and are currently the common type of contract used in the Ninja World and the Summoning Realm.

Master-servant contracts, on the other hand, are used less frequently. It's not that people in the Ninja World don't want to use them; rather, greedy humans prefer master-servant contracts that are more beneficial to humans. However, master-servant contracts have three flaws, leading to their infrequent use.

The first flaw is: they are too expensive, costing almost ten times the price of an equal contract. This makes many poor individuals give up immediately. After all, even an equal contract is not cheap, let alone one ten times more expensive.

The reason for such a significant price difference is that equal contracts are voluntarily signed by both parties after prior agreement. There are no complications or resistance during the signing process. Master-servant contracts are different; they involve resistance and suppression during the signing process, which places higher demands on both the contract carrier and the complexity of the jutsu, thus keeping the price prohibitively high.

The second flaw is: there is a risk of failure. If the contracted party resists too fiercely, or if the contracted party's spiritual power is insufficient, or due to various other reasons related to the contract itself, the contract may fail.

Once it fails, not only is the expensively purchased contract lost, but one could also suffer a backlash if not careful! Tell me, aren't you angry!

The third reason is: most of the captured and defeated Summoned Beasts are not too strong, at least not too strong compared to the captor. Forcing a contract with them wouldn't be of much use, so why bother? It's quite pointless!

After signing the contract, Neji released the Roc's pressure points. Chakra could flow again, and many of its internal injuries were alleviated. The Roc slowly regained consciousness.

Through the power of the contract, Neji learned that the creature was a Roc-type Summoned Beast called the Black-Winged Thunder Roc. It was the overlord of the skies in this region, with average intelligence. It was raising five chicks; Thunder Rocs typically lay only one egg, and the other parent had long since disappeared! A rather irresponsible species.

Because the Black-Winged Thunder Roc's right wing was severely injured by Neji, to prevent other Summoned Beasts from taking advantage of the situation and eating his newly acquired Summoned Beast, Neji decided to stay for a few days until it recovered before returning.

During this time, he could also help the Thunder Roc hunt for prey to cover its consumption and feed the young Thunder Rocs.

On the third day, the Thunder Roc's injuries were mostly healed thanks to Neji's medicine and its own recovery abilities. After playing with the young Rocs for a while, Neji mounted the Thunder Roc and flew into the sky.

This was truly a magical experience, soaring through the heavens and looking down upon the vast landscapes! A sense of boundless ambition, that heaven and earth were vast and he, Hyuga Neji, could go anywhere, surged within him. It temporarily suppressed the gloom cast by the Caged Bird Seal, giving rise to the aspiration that a small caged bird could not possibly trap a dragon.

With his state of mind elevated, Neji was in a very good mood. He circled the Summoning Realm on the Thunder Roc. Through communication with the Thunder Roc, Neji learned that there were several major powers in the Summoning Realm, including the three Great Sage Lands: Shikkotsu Forest, Mount Myōboku, and Ryūchi Cave! Besides these, there were also other difficult-to-deal-with tribes or individual overlords.

Because the Thunder Roc was a bird, it was barely considered a minor overlord in the sky. However, on the ground, it wouldn't be much of a threat.

But Neji didn't mind. He was very satisfied with the Thunder Roc's flying speed of nearly eight hundred kilometers per hour, which was faster than most airplanes in his previous life!

After touring the Summoning Realm, Neji flew the Thunder Roc back to the Ninja World. Arriving near Konoha in just over an hour, he marveled again at the speed. Sports cars and yachts from his previous life seemed truly pathetic in comparison.

Following a merchant caravan, he quietly entered Konoha and returned to his residence. He recalled his Shadow Clone and, finding nothing noteworthy, Neji rested briefly before resuming his training.

The outside world was truly vast, and he needed to continue improving his strength to have the ability to conquer it!

A month later, Neji took some time off to visit the base located in the Land of Hot Water. Having received news of Neji's arrival, Sakumo-Tatsuryu and his group were already waiting at the entrance of the base. They didn't have to wait long before they saw a massive Roc, entirely black and gold, land. It wasn't until they saw Neji jump down from the Roc's back that

Sakumo-Tatsuryu and his group lowered their guard. Cold sweat had unknowingly soaked their backs, and their hearts instantly shifted from fear to joy. They hurried forward to greet Neji, occasionally glancing at the Thunder Roc. The shock they felt towards Neji instantly reached its peak.

In just over a year, Neji had grown to a level they could not compare with. They lamented their own mediocrity yet rejoiced in their good fortune.

Ignoring the others, Neji entered the laboratory. What greeted him was a spacious underground area filled with many large machines. Neji had procured these at a high price, and some of the equipment was not available on the market at all. Neji had spent a great deal of effort hiring workers to customize them. It was also because of this batch of custom orders that the experimental equipment was only recently completed. It had not been easy!

Leaving Sakumo-Tatsuryu alone to assist and dismissing the rest of the personnel, Neji prepared to officially implement the "Natural Energy Purification" plan.

The experimental theory was simple, divided into three steps: absorbing natural air, removing all substances from the air except for natural energy to achieve purification, and finally storing the purified natural energy.

However, whether the actual implementation would be as simple as the theory suggested remained to be seen!
