Thoughts on Going Premium

It was finally going premium. First, I wanted to thank every friend who had accompanied me this far.

To be honest, I had written a Fire Shadow fanfiction before, over two hundred thousand words, and it did not make a sound. There were practically no readers following it. For a time, I doubted whether I was suited for this line of work. But my lifelong love for novels made me want to try again, and that was how this book came to be. I never expected it to be signed after just over thirty thousand words, which reignited my passion.

The story of this book was mainly about a relatively grounded transmigrator with no cheat, relying only on talent, plot, and imagination. Without relying on the Immortal Herb exploits of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, he would, with relatively abundant resources—never lacking food or drink since childhood and constantly receiving medicinal baths—and relatively peaceful support—no world-ending crisis or enemies descending from the heavens—fairly smoothly embark on the Path to Godhood. Honestly, compared with some transmigrator protagonists in Douluo fanfiction who could pull off all sorts of feats while they were only Soul Masters, this book's protagonist was rather ordinary. Only after reaching Rank 40 and obtaining his future core Soul Skill would he finally be able to show off a little. The main purpose of writing this book was to flesh out the Douluo world as much as possible without broadly contradicting the original Douluo setting.

I had loved reading novels since elementary school. It was practically my only hobby. When I first read Douluo Continent, I only found it novel, because the fantasy novels I read at the time generally did not seem so "realistic." Strength was usually described with vague phrases like being able to pull up mountains, while speed was described as swift as the wind; realms were usually something like a certain stage or an early phase. Douluo Continent directly told you the realm through clear, concise numbers, and things like strength and body size were expressed more clearly through data as well. Of course, I later discovered that the data was full of loopholes and led to quite a few jokes. Still, I really liked the book on my first read. It was only after I read Peerless Tang Sect that I felt something was off, though I did not think much about it. Then I read The Legend of the Dragon King, and damn—it was him who had brought about the disaster, and the continent's thousands of years of sacrifice were all for his son to become the savior. Only then did I come to my senses. I could not even get through the beginning of Douluo Dalu 4, and as for Tang San's rebirth, there was no need to mention it—I did not read it. Looking back at Douluo Dalu 1 and Douluo Dalu 2, the double standards and shamelessness were simply unbearable to look at. I did not even know how I had enjoyed them so much back then. I could only say that I was immature at the time. Still, I think the reason the Douluo Continent IP became popular was because we were all boys who had been moved to tears during our first read. After growing up and looking back at those self-contradictory settings and unreasonable plotlines, it was like seeing our own childish, chuunibyou selves from back then. Cursing Tang San for his double standards and hypocrisy was also regretting our own childishness and disobedience as youths. How had I believed that guy's nonsense back then?

Alright, back to the point. After going premium, this book would enter paid chapters, but please rest assured that I would remain true to my original intentions: I would guarantee at least four thousand words of updates every day and never stop updating without reason. As for the female lead, after the protagonist broke through to Soul Sage and gained the combat strength of a Titled Douluo, defeated the Long Family, and formed marriage alliances with other families, they would gradually develop feelings through their time together. As for Bo Saixi, the original work did not describe her much. All we knew was that she would become a Rank 99 Titled Douluo in the future. But the protagonist's future was no worse than hers, perhaps even stronger. I had not decided whether to include her, but she would probably not appear until after the protagonist became a Titled Douluo, so there was no need to think too much about it for now. In addition, I could reveal that when the protagonist was in his sixties, he would gain an insight and, without relying on external objects, elevate his thunder attribute, which was infinitely close to Ultimate Thunder, into true Ultimate Thunder.
