Old Ancestor Styx reached out and took the Blood Scripture. As expected of something he had personally refined and written with his own blood, it did not need to be refined at all. All its restrictions had already been automatically placed under his control, making it even more convenient than a Companion Spiritual Treasure!
Old Ancestor Styx began to carefully comprehend the Blood Scripture in his hand. After being nourished by Fortune and transforming into an Edification Supreme Treasure, the Dao Resonance within the Blood Scripture had become much clearer and more understandable than when Old Ancestor Styx had written it down. It could even automatically deduce all sorts of subsequent cultivation paths. If it were used to Preach the Dao, it would probably allow people to achieve sudden enlightenment with ease.
Normally, after obtaining an Edification Supreme Treasure, Old Ancestor Styx should have Preached the Dao. On one hand, he could analyze his own understanding of the Dao more deeply while doing so. On the other hand, he could also obtain some Fortune and Merit! However, he had only barely reached the late stage of the Fourth Great Tribulation. Under the dual pressure of the Great Dao and Pangu, he had done so many things before without receiving any Merit, so this time would probably be no exception!
As everyone knew, in the Great Wilderness, Merit would descend whenever many things were done for the first time. If Old Ancestor Styx Preached the Dao now, then when he did so again in the future, even if Merit descended, it would definitely be less than what he would receive for Preaching the Dao the first time! Thus, Old Ancestor Styx suppressed the idea of Preaching the Dao.
He began seriously comprehending the Blood Scripture, comparing it with his own cultivation insights and making modifications and innovations. After three Eons, this comprehension session finally came to an end. His realm rose by another minor stage, reaching the mid-stage of the Profound Immortal realm. After all, at a lower realm, it was still relatively easy to advance.
Through this comprehension, and through his research into the Path of Avatars and the incomplete inheritances of the three thousand Chaos Demon Gods, Styx suddenly had a new idea regarding the three thousand drops of Chaos Demon God origin he had refined from beyond the original source!
Old Ancestor Styx took out three thousand drops of blood-red Precious Blood and looked at them for a while. He then took out the Alchemy Furnace, brought out the first batch of fruit from the Ghost Soul Treasure Tree, and took out many medicinal ingredients that could repair and replenish Nascent Soul power. He opened the furnace and began refining. Old Ancestor Styx sat cross-legged atop the Twelve-grade Karmic Fire Red Lotus, the Blood Scripture hovering above his head, his entire being becoming highly focused as he stared fixedly at the Alchemy Furnace.
After refining for one Eon, Old Ancestor Styx strove for perfection and, in this state, performed beyond his normal abilities. He actually refined his first batch of Three-turn Pills, Spirit Replenishing Pills, producing nine pills in a single batch.
Old Ancestor Styx stared at the pills, deep in thought. This might be the effect of Fortune, allowing people to accomplish things that would normally be impossible! With that thought, Old Ancestor Styx began meditating with his eyes closed.
Once his essence, energy, and spirit had all reached their peak, Old Ancestor Styx opened his eyes. He reached out and took out the Yuantu Sword, then slashed it into his Nascent Soul, directly cutting off one-third of it!
Old Ancestor Styx felt as if his head were splitting apart. His mind was filled with a buzzing roar, and the Nascent Soul in his Sea of Consciousness immediately became listless, even showing signs of collapse. Once the Nascent Soul collapsed, Old Ancestor Styx would become an idiot even if he did not die. Not daring to delay, Old Ancestor Styx quickly grabbed the Spirit Replenishing Pills and poured them all into his mouth. He sent the Nascent Soul fragment into the Ghost Soul Treasure Tree to be nurtured, then began sitting cross-legged to refine the medicinal power and repair the injury to his Nascent Soul!
After closing his cultivation chamber for ten Eons, Old Ancestor Styx finally awoke from his recovery. There was still a trace of lingering fear in his eyes. Fortunately, he had refined the Spirit Replenishing Pills, and fortunately, he had managed to refine Three-turn Pills under such lucky circumstances. Otherwise, Old Ancestor Styx would probably have suffered a Dao Injury this time and found it nearly impossible to make any further progress!
I was careless. I cut off too much in one go. Fortunately, I managed to endure it. As expected of a Three-turn Pill—not only did it restore me to my original state, it even strengthened my Nascent Soul somewhat, greatly increasing its resilience as well! Old Ancestor Styx thought with lingering fear as he examined his Nascent Soul inwardly.
Earlier, through his comprehension of the Path of Avatars, the Path of the Soul, and the inheritance of the Chaos Demon Gods, Styx had come up with an idea. Although he could not yet achieve "as long as the Blood Sea does not dry up, Styx will not die," and the Blood God Son could not yet be refined, he could begin making preparations in advance.
As it happened, his realm was still low, so restoring his Nascent Soul and such would be much easier. If he waited until after reaching the Golden Immortal realm to split his Nascent Soul, then because of Metal Law's immortality, he would not die, but the difficulty of recovering would also increase greatly without him realizing it!
As it happened, he could not increase his cultivation right now, and he had plenty of time to recover, so he might as well prepare early!
