The human body has upper, middle, and lower Dantians, each housing a spirit, collectively known as the "Three Corpses." They represent the good, evil, and attachment thoughts of living beings.
The upper corpse is named Peng Ju, residing in the head, it damages one's upper faculties, causing dim eyesight, hair loss, bad breath, facial wrinkles, and tooth decay. The middle corpse is named Peng Zhi, residing in the abdomen, it damages the five internal organs, leading to a lack of willpower and excessive Qi, causing one to do evil deeds, covet food, or have chaotic dreams. The lower corpse is named Peng Qiao, residing in the feet, it causes itching and discomfort in the lower extremities, restlessness, and uncontrollable lust. (Yun Ji Qi Qian Vol. 81, quoting Three Corpses Scripture)
Therefore, those who seek the Dao must first eliminate the Three Corpses, live a life of tranquility and desirelessness, with a calm spirit and clear nature.
The human body is sustained by Essence, Qi, and Spirit. Cultivators condense the essence of these three to form the Three Flowers, which can nurture the spirits of the Three Corpses, and are also key to their cultivation.
The Golden Crow and the other Four Spirits of Heaven and Earth quietly perceived the marvels of these Three Flowers and the spirits of the Three Corpses, as wisps of Essence, Qi, and Spirit transformed and sublimated within their bodies.
Streams of Essence gathered within their bodies. Despite their Saintly realm, this new cultivation method felt like starting anew, with refining Essence into Qi being the first step.
Thus, there is the saying, "When humans first begin to live, Essence is formed first." These beings in Chaos possess innate primordial Essence, also known as "Primordial Essence."
Primordial Essence requires no nurturing and can be directly refined into Qi, which is the inexhaustible driving force of life.
Therefore, many cultivators refine the Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth to nourish themselves, cultivate their internal organs, and strengthen their physical bodies and bones.
Through continuous refinement into their own vital Qi, which serves as the driving force of life, this vital Qi can cleanse the meridians and marrow, strengthening the physical body and bones, and condensing the internal organs.
Generally, by continuously refining Essence into Qi, one can change their physique to better absorb and store the Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth. However, for these chaotic gods and demons, their innate physiques are already in harmony with the Great Dao, and they absorb Chaos Spiritual Qi.
The Golden Crow and others refine their own primal Essence. The primal Essence within chaotic beings is primordial Essence, which possesses immense power. Every strand can give rise to all things, otherwise, it wouldn't be said in later legends that Pangu's body transformed into all things.
They draw in Chaos Qi, as if swallowing the heavens, with boundless Chaos Qi forming a vortex. From afar, the Four Spirits of Heaven and Earth seemed to be consumed by this Spiritual Qi vortex, which was almost solidifying.
The Golden Crow inhaled, and a large portion of the Chaos Qi around it dissipated, the rotation instantly stopping. A thick mist of Spiritual Qi clung to a blurry figure. However, the surrounding Spiritual Qi formed auspicious clouds, within which appeared the form of the Three-legged Golden Crow's true body, also inhaling Spiritual Qi, its scorching aura eternal.
The other three spirits were in similar states. The Spiritual Qi inhaled and exhaled by Long Ming carried a touch of coolness, a sense of life that drew people in. Within the auspicious clouds, the dragon seemed to be bringing rain and nourishing all things.
The Spiritual Qi surrounding E Xiao carried the sharpness of wind, like a tornado that seemed to blow away and destroy everything in its path. Within the auspicious clouds, tiger roars echoed, and gusts of strong winds rolled, pushing the auspicious clouds to collide left and right.
Xuanwu remained as steady as ever, with a contained, earthy yellow Spiritual Qi that did not leak outwards, forming a misty layer like an earthen shell.
Absorbing and exhaling this Spiritual Qi was for the purpose of condensing their innate flowers, forming three lotus flowers with colors close to their own elemental colors, and then refining the spirits of the Three Corpses to form Three Corpses avatars.
Dao Lord Lu Ya watched the four in cultivation, nodding repeatedly. These Four Spirits of Heaven and Earth were indeed extraordinary. They had already grasped the path of cultivation just by entering meditation. If they continued like this, it was highly probable they could manifest an avatar before Great Immortal Yang Mei finished crafting the formation artifact.
Dao Lord Lu Ya nodded silently, transmitting his final divine sense, passing on all the cultivation secrets, and turned to leave.
The Golden Crow also watched all of this silently. It had been suppressing the Essence and Qi within its body, afraid that any leakage would arouse Dao Lord Lu Ya's suspicion, and that it was holding back.
It knew its unique advantage: it possessed a portion of spiritual power accompanied by Yin Yang, which was different from other Supreme Yang forces. It was Yang within Yin, and this spiritual power carried more of the Great Dao's aura and was more vibrant.
This was thanks to Long Ming, another benevolent god-demon. It possessed the clarity of water but not its fickleness.
That day, the Golden Crow had tricked Taiyin out of her Supreme Yin power, but was thwarted by Pangu, even losing some of its origin. Fearing Pangu's pursuit, it fled deep into Chaos. In its battered state, it crashed into a forbidden zone, a vast ocean. The waves surged, and a damp aura washed over it, yet a warm, gentle life force continuously nourished its injured origin.
The Golden Crow sat cross-legged above the seawater, absorbing this life force, gritting its teeth and muttering, "Pangu... Pangu..."
Its eyes bulged, and its body trembled with each shout, until it was almost shouting with all its might.
During its escape, it had been constantly circulating its Solar power to suppress its internal injuries. Now that it had calmed down, it quickly began to heal, and absorbed the life force of the vast sea bit by bit to mend itself.
Its injuries gradually improved. Although it had not seized Taiyin's Supreme Yin origin, it had gained a deeper understanding of its own Supreme Yang path and the path of Yin Yang balance. As it quietly comprehended and continuously refined this boundless life force, it sensed a Yin aura different from the Supreme Yin origin.
The Golden Crow rejoiced, frantically wanting to find the source of this aura. It cried out in its heart: "The Great Dao is impartial! Pangu, you wait! With this origin, when my Yin Yang reaches perfection, it will be your time to turn to dust!"
The Golden Crow plunged into the boundless sea, traveling through the azure waters. Sometimes it encountered a stubborn rock, and the Yin origin aura intensified, refining it. But regrettably, it only obtained a faint trace, which was far from the aura it had sensed. Sometimes it was a patch of sea sand, but none of them were the source it sensed.
The Golden Crow floated in the seawater, pondering. These sand particles must be related to that origin, but at most, they were just places where that origin had been.
There must be a powerful being here, connected to this heavenly sea. Could it be...? The Golden Crow shot up into the sky, quickly emerging from the water. Behind it, a giant hand formed from countless seawater particles tightly followed, striking at it.
The palm carried immense pressure. The sea surface was no longer calm, roaring and churning as if cheering for the palm.
The Golden Crow knew that if it were struck by this palm, its recently stabilized injuries would surely worsen. This was not good news for it, so it transformed into its true form, a Three-legged Golden Crow covered in flames. It let out a long cry, spewing a sea of fire that burned the void.
The two met and surprisingly held each other in check, with wisps of steam rising from the edges of their contact.
The Golden Crow was shocked. This water was extraordinary. Only water from the Four Spirits of Heaven and Earth could contend with its origin. It shouted, "Brother Water Spirit, is this how you treat a friend?"
A dragon-shaped god-demon appeared in the water. It thought to itself, "I don't have many friends. I've been cultivating here since birth and have never seen anyone. How can he be my friend? Perhaps he saw me before I developed my divine sense. If so, I've been very rude."
"Nonsense, you strange bird. I have lived in seclusion here for a long time and did not realize it was an old friend. I apologize for my rudeness."
The Golden Crow inwardly sneered. So, it was a naive fool who didn't understand etiquette. It probed further, "We are both deities of Heaven and Earth. Seeing that you have such divine abilities, you must have cultivated for a long time. Why do you still retain your original form?"
The dragon said, "In this boundless water, this form is most suited to the water." As it spoke, it flicked its dragon tail, stirring up monstrous waves.
The Golden Crow said, "Fellow Daoist, you live here in bliss, but you are unaware that the calamity of Heaven and Earth is upon us, and all of us deities will perish."
The dragon said, "Please elaborate, Daoist brother."
After listening to the Golden Crow's words, the dragon roared, "To bully us Four Spirits of Heaven and Earth like this, Pangu is truly hateful! He even wants to destroy the beings of Chaos. I will scatter his soul!" The Golden Crow brother, do not worry. I will help you heal your injuries with my origin, and together we will eliminate this scourge for the Great Dao."
The Golden Crow rejoiced inwardly and quickly said, "This Pangu is truly hateful. Thank you kindly, Daoist brother."
The Golden Crow Daoist recalled this scene and still chuckled inwardly. That Long Ming not only healed its injuries but also gave it a portion of its origin, allowing it to comprehend the Yang within Yin and advance further towards the Great Dao.
The Golden Crow Daoist stirred this bit of Yang Qi, rapidly condensing the Essence of Heaven and Earth. A brilliant small sun floated above the boundless auspicious clouds, casting a golden edge on the colorful clouds. It then used the Three Corpses divine method to refine this small sun.
A wisp of Essence within the sun quickly took shape. Continuing to refine it, a Primordial Spirit formed, with a body resembling a crow, three legs, and golden color. However, it was stiff and lacked any spiritual energy.
The Golden Crow Daoist spat out another mouthful of primordial Essence, a trace of divine sense, and vital blood, continuing to refine the small sun. A miniature Golden Crow, flapping its wings, circled the Golden Crow, occasionally nuzzling it affectionately.
The Golden Crow Daoist pointed at the little Golden Crow, saying, "Go, scout for me. See if there's a possibility of seizing this world for my use."
The Golden Crow Daoist's seemingly covert action was actually seen by someone.
This world was formed from Great Immortal Yang Mei's Chaos Bead, and it was integrated with his Primordial Spirit. Every movement within it could not escape his divine sense, and moreover, the Golden Crow Daoist was a bit too careless.
Great Immortal Yang Mei sent out a divine sense, and Dao Lord Lu Ya couldn't help but rejoice. This was a rare opportunity; it seemed his Three Corpses would finally be complete.
Dao Lord Lu Ya bowed to the sky and said, "Many thanks, fellow Daoist, for your fulfillment."
He chased after the newly born little Golden Crow. Within Great Immortal Yang Mei's world, he was omnipotent. Anything only required a thought, so Dao Lord Lu Ya found the little Golden Crow with great ease.
Dao Lord Lu Ya took out his accompanying spirit treasure, four ancient and unparalleled precious swords, and set up a Four Symbols Formation to trap the little Golden Crow.
The little Golden Crow shrieked repeatedly and roared, "Aren't you afraid that we Four Spirits will withdraw and be unable to form the Grand Formation of the Myriad Stars?"
Dao Lord Lu Ya laughed heartily, "Within this world, your main body is confused. My fellow Daoist still has that capability."
The little Golden Crow was furious and shouted, "You are too shameless! I will self-destruct so you get nothing."
Dao Lord Lu Ya said calmly, "In this world, one is sometimes not in control of oneself. Try it if you don't believe me."
After dealing with the little Golden Crow, Dao Lord Lu Ya casually created a small sun. After altering the Golden Crow's divine sense and memory, he sent it into the Golden Crow he had created.
He muttered to himself, "I am one of the innate fires between heaven and earth, yet I am still inferior to this Fire Spirit. Now I also have an opportunity to become a Fire Spirit. Hahaha, the Great Dao is impartial."
