"Excuse me, could I ask you something? What was that triangle you just mentioned?"
The two girls, already surprised when their books fell, froze at the question. Then they looked up at Xu Yun.
The taller girl gave him a somewhat strange look and said:
"The Yang Hui's Triangle. Why?"
The other girl, Yueyue, was a little more perceptive. Her gaze lingered on the campus card Xu Yun was casually twirling in his hand. Graduate and undergraduate cards were different colors. She couldn't tell whether the young man in front of her was a master's or doctoral student, but someone with that level of education shouldn't, in theory, be unfamiliar with Yang Hui's Triangle.
So her first thought was that he was probably looking for an excuse to strike up a conversation.

And then there were the top students who were really something else. Most of them were graduate students, and they'd secretly take note of what books their targets were reading, figure out what year they were in, then apply to become their teaching assistants or something.
Xu Yun knew one such guy. He'd published two papers in second-quartile journals in his first year as a doctoral student, but then, in order to pursue a junior girl, he went to work as a teaching assistant for first-year undergraduates.
