• Chu freed the battleship and attacked with darkness, while Ye Chenyang and Zhong Chang exposed and struck Qilius and the sharp-eared woman as Jiang Mian’s cataclysms descended.

• Supervisor Wang slapped Ji Xuan awake at the Special Affairs Bureau and docked fifty from his pay for dozing during his long shift.
• Ji Xuan returned home and defied his abusive father, who beat him and took the money he had brought.
• Ji Xuan left after his father ordered him not to come back, then encountered a burly man and a blond Awakened in an alley.
• The blond knocked Ji Xuan down and searched him, while Ji Xuan's hatred and pain triggered a transformation.
• Ji Xuan rose as a pitch-black skeleton with ghostly blue hellfire blazing in his eye sockets.

Ji Xuan reunited with Oblivion River after their defeat by [Doom], and they agreed to continue working together. Oblivion River began examining Ji Xuan’s soul, experiencing his memories and deepening her understanding of spiritual pain.

• Ji Xuan woke in the secret realm, his body still suffering from the curse and the damage to the Underworld Embryo.

Xu Qing took her dead daughter Xu An beyond Base City No. 7 to bury her, but Xu An's body suddenly awakened with an unknown presence inside. The presence claimed it could bring Xu An back and demanded that Xu Qing agree to its conditions.

• Xu Qing carried Xu An out of the city and told Number Three to stand guard at the pipeline outlet.
• Xu Qing recalled that a Fifth-tier [Shadow Plunderer] had infiltrated the Mutual Aid Society headquarters and Xu An had died from a mental shock during the battle.
