Background

Xu Xiaoan initially appeared as a timid Second-tier participant in the cultivation program, publicly identified with Sequence 47, [Phantom]. Beneath this identity, however, she carried the apex soul of [Formless], a Calamity whose human form was only a simulated shell around black-and-red flesh. 188 195 208

As [Formless], she entered a small realm to recover strength, reclaim her original body, and absorb [Chaos] power. She could move through shadowed domains without being noticed, manipulate the will of lower beings, and exploit the monks' absorbed [Formless] power. 195 205

Jiang Mian exposed and subdued her after recognizing that Xu Xiaoan had been secretly observing the group. Rather than destroy her outright, Jiang Mian preserved the Xu Xiaoan personality while suppressing the active [Formless] identity, altering her memories so that she believed herself to be a human-turned-Mutant hiding an abnormal ability. 205 209 210

Xu Xiaoan's unstable soul later collapsed beneath accumulated memories and obsessions. Jiang Mian erased those burdens within the [Hundred Forms of Floating Life Scroll], helped her integrate her soul with a new peak power, and gave her a genuine new beginning. After discovering that she was immune to the unknown [Chaos] influence, Xu Xiaoan volunteered to infiltrate the Fallen Ones and Chaos Cult. Within the cult, Xu Xiaoan gradually rejected her role as a passive vessel and sought genuine authority.
