After the rampage, nearly half of the underground cave system deep in the Treacherous Mountains had collapsed.
Huge, heavy boulders lay piled together, with the gaps between them almost completely filled with gravel.
With the death of the Rift of Joy, all the blue nerves spread throughout the underground caves had lost their vitality, and with it their light.
So the caves had grown dark.
Only the hastily built bonfire and the torches in everyone's hands still gave off a feeble yellow glow.
Ging, Morel, and Shizuku each carried a torch as they moved through the caves' dark shadows, proceeding with caution.
They didn't want to move too forcefully and risk triggering another collapse, nor did they want to move too quickly and miss what they were searching for.
The three of them were looking for Manless Stones.
As it turned out, the Manless Stones were fairly easy to find.
Most of them had been laid in the little lakes by the Tongue of Theft.
Whenever they found a patch of water nearby, the Manless Stones were usually close by too.
Of course, that wasn't always the case.
After all, the battle and the cave-ins had left the area in chaos.
Morel's Smoke Rabbits proved especially useful in such narrow, dim terrain.
Their bodies were flexible and adaptable, so they had no trouble squeezing into tiny holes, and there were plenty of them.
So it was no surprise that Morel found the most Manless Stones of the three.
Whenever they found one, they handed it to Shizuku, who had her Evil Tenderfoot swallow them one by one.
Meanwhile, Gelman sat cross-legged by the bonfire, receiving treatment from Miss Cookie's Peach Blossom Breath.
Because of Restraint and Vow, Pressure Release treatment couldn't remove the Dark Crown from Gelman's head just yet.
