Gelman looked down at the projection of the "Lantern." As expected, it displayed two lines of text.
"Lantern location: the central archipelago of Lake Möbius"
"Cooldown: 1 hour (59 minutes, 45 seconds remaining)"
The Teleport Lantern's cooldown should have doubled to 64 minutes, but it had been rounded down to one hour.
Although that was only a four-minute reduction, it was still good news for Gelman. He had no reason to complain.
He extinguished the "Lantern," put away the Hunter Badge, then dispelled the Hunter Badge as well. After that, he turned to Biscuit and Shizuku, who were still looking around.
Biscuit walked back and forth with her phone in hand, then finally gave up. "As expected, there's no signal. But the phone's camera, voice recorder, notes, and other functions still work."
From then on, she would be responsible for recording their observations from time to time. Gelman would handle scouting and combat. Shizuku might not think to do it, so it was up to Biscuit.
Whether this was the Dark Continent or a well-disguised demon realm or hidden domain, she would stick to the division of responsibilities they had agreed on beforehand.
Shizuku crouched at the edge of the Muddy Land, studying the trail where the Lord of Crows' corpse had been dragged away. It led deep into the part of the Reed Forest that had been badly burned. After a while, she stood up.
"I haven't seen a single crow." Shizuku blinked her large eyes without a trace of expression, like a doll. "Should we search deeper into the Reed Forest?"
"Let's stick to the original plan." Biscuit checked that her ponytail was secure before continuing. "Right now, we need to get through the Lantern's one-hour cooldown safely."
