Jonouchi turned and left as he spoke.

"Wait, Jonouchi-kun!"

Just then, Yugi suddenly called out to Jonouchi ahead of him.

"Huh? What is it, Yugi?"

Jonouchi asked in confusion.

"I want to go with you."

Yugi spoke to him with a serious expression.

"Why?"

Jonouchi did not understand.

"I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this."

Yugi said worriedly.

"AIBO?"

"Yugi?"

The King and Anzu called Yugi's name in concern.

"I just feel like you're going to run into some danger later, Jonouchi, so I want to go with you."

Yugi stepped forward as he spoke.

"It's fine. What danger could there be? I think you're just overthinking it, Yugi."

Jonouchi reassured him.

"Maybe. But I still want to go with you."

Yugi said, his gaze resolute.

"I see... Fine, then. I really can't do anything about you."

Jonouchi could only indulge Yugi.

"Then I'll go too."

"Me too!"

Anzu and Honda Hiro echoed them.

As the four headed toward the hospital, three cloaked figures blocked their path.

"So something really did happen!?"

Jonouchi watched the suspicious trio warily.

"Don't let your guard down, Jonouchi-kun. They're dressed the same way as the people I encountered when I met Bandit Keith."

Yugi warned Jonouchi while keeping his guard up against the people before them.

"Tch, so you're here to cause trouble?"

Jonouchi clicked his tongue.

"Are you Katsuya Jonouchi?"

The leader of the three suddenly addressed Jonouchi.

"So you came prepared..."

Jonouchi realized he was their target.

"On the name of Gryus, we can't let you pass just like that!"

The man spoke with a rather unimpressive air of menace.

"Gryus? I remember seeing that name in the newspaper. A gang of thieves that challenges Duelists all over the world and steals their rare cards, right?"

Jonouchi recalled the name and explained it.

"That's awful!"

"Is this the bad feeling Yugi was talking about?"

Anzu and Honda began worrying about their companion.

"Katsuya Jonouchi, I challenge you to a Duel here!"

The leader revealed his Duel Disk and stated his target. Then his two underlings moved to block both sides of the group.

"Sure, I accept your challen—"

Before Jonouchi could finish, Yugi stepped forward and held out an arm to stop him.

"I'll take this Duel in your place, Jonouchi-kun."

Yugi spoke to him with a serious expression.

"Yugi?"

Jonouchi was a little lost.

"We're in a hurry too, aren't we?"

Yugi explained.

"Ah, that's true. Then I'll leave it to you."

After thinking for a moment, Jonouchi immediately agreed.

"Hmph, fine. King of Games Yugi Muto, then wager your rare card, Dark Magician!"

The leader said indifferently. He had accepted this Duel despite knowing Yugi was the King of Games, so he must have had something that made him so confident.

Yugi opened the case containing his Duel Disk, took it out, and attached it to his left arm.

Soon, both sides inserted their decks into their Duel Disks and activated them.

Duel!! ×2

[Yugi Muto: LP 4000] [Gryus Extra: LP 4000]

"My turn, draw!"

[Yugi Muto's hand: 5→6]

"First, I summon Yellow Gear from my hand."

A flash of light appeared before Yugi, and a yellow robot carrying a huge gear on its back emerged.

[Yellow Gear: ATK 1200]

"The moment this monster is summoned, I activate its special effect!"

This card can only be activated when it is successfully Normal Summoned or Special Summoned. Add 1 Green Gear from your deck to your hand.

Yugi selected a card from his deck, revealed it, then shuffled his deck.

"Next, I activate the Spell Card Double Summon from my hand."

This turn, you can perform up to 2 Normal Summons.

"I tribute Yellow Gear to summon Silent Swordsman LV5."

The robot immediately vanished, and a greatsword-wielding warrior in a blue trench coat appeared.

[Silent Swordsman LV5: ATK 2300]

"Awesome! Yugi's ace monster is out on the very first turn!"

Jonouchi shouted excitedly.

Yugi then drew another card from his hand.

"It's not over yet. I activate a second Spell Card, Level Up!"

Send 1 face-up monster with [LV] in its name from your field to the Graveyard to activate. Special Summon the monster listed on that card from your hand or deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

"I send Silent Swordsman LV5 to the Graveyard and Special Summon Silent Swordsman LV7 from my deck!"

Yugi took another Silent Swordsman from his deck and placed it onto his Duel Disk.

Then Silent Swordsman grew a little taller.

[Silent Swordsman LV7: ATK 2800]

There was an illustration here. It can be viewed in the updated version.

"AIBO, this card..."

The King was instantly startled when he saw this card's effect.

"Finally, I set two cards and end my turn."

Yugi inserted his remaining two cards, aside from Green Gear, into his Duel Disk and declared the end of his turn.

[Yugi Muto's hand: 6→1]

"Heh heh heh, you've summoned quite a rare card. But it's nothing before my invincible deck."

"My turn, draw!"

The extra cackled sinisterly and drew a card.

[Gryus Extra's hand: 5→6]

"I activate the Spell Card Pot of Greed and draw two cards from my deck."

Just as he was about to draw, Yugi stopped him.

"Wait, you can't do that. Because of Silent Swordsman LV7's special ability..."

As long as this card exists in the Monster Zone, negate the effects of Spell Cards on the field.

"What!?"

The Gryus extra's hand froze. As he looked at the Spell Cards in his hand, cold sweat poured down his forehead.

"What an amazing effect, but doesn't that also seal away your own Spell Cards, Yugi?"

Jonouchi asked instinctively.

"It does affect my own ability to use Spell Cards, so my deck has a larger proportion of Trap Cards."

Yugi turned to explain it to Jonouchi. Put simply, it was a trap-heavy deck.

"I... I set one monster card... End my turn..."

The opponent placed a card onto his Duel Disk with trembling hands, adding a face-down card to his field.

[Gryus Extra's hand: 6→4]

"My turn, draw!"

[Yugi Muto's hand: 1→2]

After drawing a card, Yugi slapped another card onto his Duel Disk.

"I summon Green Gear from my hand."

A green gear robot immediately appeared.

[Green Gear: ATK 1400]

"Likewise, I activate Green Gear's special effect."

This card can only be activated when it is successfully Normal Summoned or Special Summoned. Add 1 Red Gear from your deck to your hand.

"Battle! Silent Swordsman LV7, attack his face-down card!"

Silent Swordsman swung his greatsword and cut the opponent's face-down card in half, revealing the monster beneath it: a head.

"How can this be!? It's actually Exodia!?"
