The next day, Yugi and Mai happened to run into each other in a park.
"Jonouchi-kun!"
Yugi greeted Jonouchi as he ran toward them.
"Hey, Yugi, Mai's here too!?"
Jonouchi responded as well.
"Hi~. Looks like you haven't been eliminated yet."
Mai greeted him too.
"Of course. Instead of worrying about others, you should worry about yourself."
Jonouchi said smugly.
"You don't need to worry about me."
As she spoke, Mai revealed four Puzzle Cards.
"Huh? You already collected four!?"
Jonouchi was instantly dumbfounded.
"I have three, and Jonouchi-kun has two."
Yugi and Jonouchi each showed how many they had.
"Compared to you guys, I really am at the bottom..."
Jonouchi felt a headache coming on.
"Make sure none of you get eliminated before the finals."
"See you in the finals."
Afterward, Mai and Jonouchi left from either side of Yugi.
"We should go look for our opponent too, AIBO."
The King saw Yugi curiously staring at a bald man sitting motionless on a bench and hurriedly urged him on.
"Yeah, I know, Other Me."
After being prompted, Yugi immediately picked a direction and left, though he still glanced back at the bald man.
He had a feeling he would see that bald man again.
Sure enough, Yugi encountered the bald man by a river. More accurately, the bald man had caught up with him himself.
"So he really was sent by Marik."
Just as Yugi expected, he saw the Millennium Item mark on the bald man's forehead.
It seemed this was Yugi's second opponent.
Slifer the Sky Dragon
"As Yugi's vessel, we meet again."
Marik controlled the puppet and greeted Yugi.
"Are you dueling in person this time?"
Yugi said as he unfolded his Duel Disk.
"That's right. This time, you'll face an invincible god. Heh heh heh..."
As he spoke, the puppet unfolded its Duel Disk as well.

"I'll go first. Draw!"
[Marik Ishtar's hand: 5 → 6]
After putting away the card he drew, Marik took three more cards from his hand.
"I activate the Spell Card [Polymerization] from my hand, fusing [Humanoid Slime] and [Reptilian] from my hand!"
A humanoid slime and a green insect-like monster appeared on the field before fusing together.
"I summon [Humanoid Reptilian]!"
[Humanoid Reptilian: ATK 2200]
"Next, I summon [Revival Slime] from my hand in Defense Position."
A constantly wriggling slime appeared on Marik's field.
[Revival Slime: DEF 500]
"[Revival Slime] revives as long as it's destroyed. What an annoying monster..."
Yugi knew full well how troublesome that card was.
"Heh heh heh. As expected of Yugi, you know even a rare card like this so well."
Marik thought even more highly of Yugi.
He then inserted his remaining two cards into the Duel Disk.
"Then I'll set two cards and end my turn."
[Marik Ishtar's hand: 6 → 0]
"Didn't you draw a God Card?"
Yugi could not help asking when he saw Marik's hand had been emptied.
"What a pity. I didn't draw one..."
Yugi could not hear much regret in Marik's voice.
"Then it's my turn. Draw!"
[Yugi Muto's hand: 5 → 6]
"First, I summon [Silent Magician LV4] from my hand."
With the projection, the young Silent Magician appeared on Yugi's field.
[Silent Magician LV4: ATK 1000]
"Here it comes!? Your [LV] monster."
Marik said with great interest.
Yugi pulled another card from his hand.
"I activate the Spell Card [Level Up!] from my hand, sending [Silent Magician LV4] to the Graveyard, then Special Summon [Silent Magician LV8], the monster listed on this card, from my Deck without regard for its Summoning conditions."
The young Silent Magician suddenly grew into a tall, mature beauty.

[Yugi Muto's hand: 6 → 4]
"Three thousand five hundred attack points... He summoned a high-level monster with even more attack than [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] so easily..."
Marik was instantly dumbfounded.
"[Silent Magician LV8] also has a special effect. This card is unaffected by the effects of the opponent's Spell Cards."
Yugi said confidently.
"Yugi, you really do have so many good cards. How exciting!"
Marik grew greedy.
"Battle! [Silent Magician LV8], attack [Humanoid Reptilian]!"
Silent Magician swung her staff and summoned a sphere of light, firing it at the opponent.
"Not so fast! I activate my set card, the Continuous Trap [Defense Slime]!"
When your opponent's monster attacks one of your monsters while [Revival Slime] is face-up on your field, the attack target is changed to [Revival Slime].
The slime immediately blocked the sphere of light. It was blown apart at once, but quickly gathered itself together again.
"Heh heh heh. [Revival Slime] is immortal!"
Marik sneered.
"I set three cards and end my turn."
After seeing his attack fail, Yugi directly set three cards and declared the end of his turn.
[Yugi Muto's hand: 4 → 1]
"My turn, draw!"
[Marik Ishtar's hand: 0 → 1]
"I activate the Spell Card [Pot of Greed] from my hand and draw two cards from my Deck."
[Marik Ishtar's hand: 1 → 2]
"Heh heh heh. The god has come to my hand."
Marik said with a smile.
"First, I activate my set card, the Quick-Play Spell [De-Fusion], and undo the fusion of [Humanoid Reptilian]."
Humanoid Reptilian reverted back into two monsters.
[Humanoid Slime: DEF 2000] [Reptilian: DEF 1500]
"Now, I have gathered three tributes on my field. I offer these three monsters as tributes!"
At that moment, the sky suddenly darkened with dense clouds. Lightning flashed through the pitch-black clouds, and bolts of lightning descended around the two of them.
Accompanied by a roar, a massive figure that blotted out the sky slowly descended from the clouds behind Marik.

"[Slifer the Sky Dragon]'s attack power is determined by the number of cards in my hand. Its attack rises by one thousand points for every card in my hand."
Marik said excitedly.
"Next, I activate the Spell Card [Card of Demise]. Both players draw from their Decks until they each have six cards in hand!"
[Marik Ishtar's hand: 1 → 6] [Yugi Muto's hand: 1 → 6] [Slifer the Sky Dragon: ATK 1000 → 6000]
"The god is unaffected by Trap Cards, and Spell Cards and monster effects can only affect it for one turn. This is one of the Three Phantom Gods that stand above all Duel Monsters!"
Marik directly explained its effects.
"Six thousand attack!? And that resistance!? How are we supposed to defeat a monster like that, AIBO?"
The King asked uneasily.
"Calm down, Other Me. I already have a countermeasure."
Yugi was not panicked at all. After all, there had been plenty of cards in his previous life that were harder to deal with than God Cards.
"How long can you maintain that calm, Yugi? Battle! [Slifer the Sky Dragon], attack [Silent Magician LV8]! Galactic Spiral Blast!"
