Beta stood before the mirror and began removing his disguise.

First, he dampened the edges of the facial prosthetics with makeup remover. Once the adhesive had softened, he slowly peeled them off his cheekbones and chin with a rustling sound, like pulling off a stubborn sticker. Then he used the handle of a comb to loosen the wig along his hairline, revealing the pale blond strands that had been hidden beneath it.

He leaned close to the mirror, touched the corner of his eye with a fingertip, and carefully removed the colored contact lenses. His ice-blue eyes shone once more. Finally, he soaked his hands in makeup remover, gradually dissolving the special coating that had blurred his palm lines and fingerprints.

Every step was neat and precise. By the time the last trace of his disguise had been removed, the person reflected in the mirror was someone else entirely.

Under the light, his pale blond hair gleamed softly, and his ice-blue eyes were clear as polar glaciers. With a gaze sharp enough to pierce the heart, Beta's true appearance was finally fully restored.

Cataleya leaned against the doorframe, studying the angular face in the mirror. "You're always saying you look ordinary, but you could easily play the male lead in a Hollywood blockbuster with that face."

Beta bent down and scooped up a handful of water. Cool droplets ran along his sharply defined jaw.

He met Cataleya's eyes in the mirror through his wet bangs. "Oh? The male lead in an American blockbuster?"

Cataleya's lips curled into a mischievous smile. "The male lead in an adult film, the kind where you're tied up and tossed on the floor. And there'd have to be a big Black guy in the bed beside you, doing a scene with your wife."
