After they had all taken their seats, Huang Ze Jun found the arrangement a little strange.
Jiang Lan was sitting next to him, with Tang Zhi Chu across from her. That was fine, at least; after a little time to adjust, he could accept it.
But Zhou Yun, who had always liked sitting next to Jiang Lan, had suddenly gone to sit with Chen Si Yang instead.
And they even seemed quite familiar with each other.
"Yang Yang, I put the rabbit heads next to you. I like those best."
"Never mind, I'll get you a trash can. Otherwise, you'll get grease from the bones on your sleeves later."
The scene was a little bizarre. Even Huang Ze Jun could tell that, before this, Zhou Yun and Chen Si Yang hadn't gotten along very well.
Why were they suddenly so close? What had he missed?
He looked at Tang Zhi Chu across the table. Tang Zhi Chu wore a calm expression.
He looked at Jiang Lan beside him. She didn't seem to find anything strange either.
Huang Ze Jun shook his head and simply started eating, too.
Jiang Lan's gaze, however, flickered. Zhou Yun's bold change had caught her off guard.
Could this person really change so dramatically in such a short time?
Jiang Lan glanced curiously at Tang Zhi Chu a few times, and saw that he seemed completely unsurprised.
Or had even this situation been within Tang Zhi Chu's expectations?
There wasn't much point in agonizing over it, as far as Jiang Lan was concerned. She just felt a little wistful.
She had underestimated Zhou Yun, and it reminded her that this was what making a choice meant.
Every choice was like that: you gave something up and gained something else.
