Qian Daoliu serves as the Great Enshrinement of Martial Soul Hall and the guardian of the Angel God's inheritance. His duty is to safeguard the Angel God's divine position until a suitable inheritor ascends, a responsibility he considers more important than his own honor, Spirit Hall's fortunes, or the continent's wars. 254

He is Qian Renxue's grandfather and has long supported her position as the inheritor of Angel Divine Power. When Pufferfish Douluo reports Lin Jin's abilities and Renxue's interest in him, Qian Daoliu approves of Lin Jin as worthy of his granddaughter and asserts that Martial Soul Hall belongs to the Qian family. 133

During the conflict surrounding the All-Continent Elite Soul Master Competition, Qian Daoliu covertly has Qing Luan Douluo watch over Lin Jin's life-or-death trial, ensuring Bibi Dong cannot kill him. 143 He later warns Qian Renxue that Bibi Dong bears an evil divine power opposed to Angel Divine Power and urges Renxue to accelerate her divine trials. 158
