"My God! Am I seeing things? Uchiha Wei actually backed down?"

"So Uchiha Wei must have been beaten up by Shigure? Really? I can't believe it!"

"Everyone, keep it down!" a gray-haired boy in a mask said coldly.

Sure enough, no one dared make another sound.

"Hm?" The cold boy caught Shigure's attention. He had gray hair, a sword strapped to his back, and a mysterious mask over his face. The chakra flowing through him was much stronger than that of the other students.

Shigure had transmigrated into this world, but all of the previous Shigure's memories had disappeared. Naturally, he didn't recognize the boy.

This guy doesn't seem ordinary, Shigure thought.

"Have you forgotten who everyone is?" a pleasant female voice asked beside him.

Shigure turned his head.

"Interested in him? He's the top student in our class, Classmate Hatake." His long red-haired desk mate was explaining things to him.

"You..." Shigure rubbed his head, looking a little embarrassed. He couldn't quite remember his desk mate's name, but one look at her eyes told him she had the Byakugan of the Hyuga Clan.

"I'm Hinata Kurenai. Remember that, and don't forget again!" Hinata Kurenai smiled, seeming able to melt ice that had frozen for ten thousand years.

"Got it. I won't forget again. What's the full name of our classmate from the Hatake Clan?" Shigure nodded and asked politely.

"His name is Kakashi Nao," Kurenai replied.

"Huh? Kakashi Nao? All right..."

Shigure felt a little speechless. He'd almost thought he'd transmigrated into The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

Then another teacher he hadn't seen before appeared. He picked up a roster and began calling the students' names.

"Akimichi Tonki!"

"Yamanaka Yuki!"

"Nara Kakuru!"

"You three from Inoshikacho have always been the best of partners, and your grades are well balanced, so you'll be Team One."

Aside from Yamanaka Yuki, the other two were boys. Akimichi Tonki was as fat as could be, while Nara Kakuru looked exceptionally shrewd. Yamanaka Yuki, meanwhile, was one of the few eye-catching blond beauties.

The teacher spent half an hour assigning teams. At last, only three students remained. Some were disappointed, others delighted.

"Oh my God! My prayers worked!" Hinata Kurenai could hardly contain her excitement. She seemed thrilled to be teamed up with Shigure and Nao.

"Let's go!" Kakashi Nao said in his usual cool manner. He wasn't picking on Shigure; he was simply like that all the time.

Amid the commotion, the three of them headed for the principal's office.

When Shigure opened the door, he saw a figure he knew well from the original story.

He wore a loose kimono and a Konoha forehead protector. His eyes were pure white, just like Hinata Kurenai's.

"Byakugan? Someone from the Hyuga Clan?" Kakashi Nao exclaimed in surprise.

"That's right. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm the newly promoted Jonin of Konoha, Hizashi Hyuga. You may call me Teacher Hizashi. I take it the three of you are the students I'll be leading?" Hizashi Hyuga was exceptionally courteous and didn't seem to regard them as subordinates.

"Uchiha Shigure, Kakashi Nao, and Miss Hinata Kurenai." Though Hizashi addressed them differently, he remained humble and polite.

"Mm." Kurenai nodded.

"Hm?" Hizashi looked at Shigure's eyes, slightly puzzled.

Shigure understood what Hizashi wanted to ask, so he said, "Teacher Hizashi, you can ask me directly."

"Mm. Forgive me if this is offensive, Uchiha Shigure. Your eyes seem somewhat similar to those of our Hyuga Clan. I couldn't help but be surprised," Hizashi asked.

After all, Kekkei Genkai were extremely sensitive matters, protected by the clans that possessed them—not just in Konoha, but throughout the Shinobi World. It was only natural for Hizashi to ask.

Shigure quickly explained, "I'm not sure. My eyes have always been like this, and I've never felt anything unusual. Maybe I was simply born this way."

"By the way, the three of you should get ready to head to Konoha training ground. We have an entrance exam for you. This was personally ordered by the Third Hokage. Anyone who fails will lose the right to become a Genin! The three of you must give it your all. Go get ready now!"

Hizashi Hyuga suddenly grew stern, instantly shifting from a kindly father figure to a strict teacher.

The three newly promoted Genin promptly vanished from the principal's office.

Soon, they arrived at Konoha Training Ground 3.

Three figures quickly gathered there.

The Genin of Konoha Team Seven, Hinata Kurenai, waited there obediently, though every so often she glanced at Uchiha Shigure nearby, her cheeks faintly flushed.

Kakashi Nao, his gray-white hair and mask in place and a finely crafted sword strapped to his back, sat cross-legged, seemingly deep in thought.

Uchiha Shigure wore a standard shinobi uniform bearing the faintest trace of the Uchiha Clan crest. With a Konoha Headband on his forehead, pale skin, and slightly pale eyes, he waited in place with the unwavering focus of an eagle, as still as a stone.

Hizashi Hyuga looked over the group and nodded. He had taken in everyone's demeanor and had already arrived at Konoha Training Ground 3.

With a sudden Body Flicker Technique, Hizashi appeared before them and abruptly began their official Genin entrance exam.

"You three come from Konoha's great clans. You carry your parents' legacy and talent, so I hope you'll truly complete this lesson and become Genin in the fullest sense of the word." As he spoke, Hizashi took out the bells he had prepared earlier.
