Voldemort was certain that Neville had awakened his magical talent.
Ginny, Hermione, Draco, and Percy.
Of everyone Voldemort had ever come into contact with, perhaps only he and Dumbledore had stronger mental power than Neville.
And Dumbledore had probably reached that level through training.
Neville was different from him.
Their mental power was an innate talent.
And talent determined a person's potential.
If only he could truly bring Neville under his control...
"Bring me under your control?" Neville asked in confusion.
"We'll talk about that later, Neville. Let me finish talking to Professor Trelawney first," Voldemort reassured him.
Then he made Neville's body lift its head, bringing his gaze level with Trelawney, who was standing very close.
Voldemort saw the concern on Trelawney's face turn to surprise. Then she let out a short, frightened cry and dropped heavily onto the floor.
"It's the Red Sea Heavenly Eye. The Red Sea Heavenly Eye..."
She stared wide-eyed at Voldemort's right eye, as if she'd seen something extraordinary.
"What is the Red Sea Heavenly Eye, Professor?"
As he asked, Voldemort conjured a mirror in front of him.
In the mirror, Neville's right eye still had blood at its corner, but its iris had turned completely crimson.
"I've seen it before. I've seen it..."
Trelawney had gone back to acting crazed and incoherent.
She scrambled to her feet and rushed to Cassandra's Prophet's Notes, flipping through it at speed.
At first, she turned the pages one by one. Then she skipped straight to the last few pages and abruptly stopped.
"That's it."
Voldemort shifted his gaze from Trelawney. He had just been examining the white light and flames around her.
They shone more brightly than Ron's, but not as brightly as Harry's.
Following Trelawney's trembling finger, he looked at the open page:
