Voldemort, Neville, and Luna and her father suddenly appeared in a valley shrouded in mist.
"Hiss... It's so cold here."
Loftgood shuddered and said uneasily.
Voldemort showed him a false smile, then strode toward the depths of the fog.
Neville hurried after him. He looked the most flustered, while Luna was far calmer.
"Whoosh."
A spell suddenly shot out from the thick fog.
Voldemort did not even draw his wand. He merely waved a hand, knocking the spell aside.
The two children could not yet understand what that meant, but Loftgood's eyes had already widened in shock.
"Senior Carlotta, it's me, Voldemort."
Voldemort stopped and shouted into the mist.
"Carlotta Pinkstone?" Loftgood asked in surprise.
That witch had a portrait on a Chocolate Frog card.
"Yes. When I was in my first year, Senior was in her fifth. We shared many of the same views."
As Voldemort spoke, he looked at the two children. "Senior Carlotta may seem a little strange, but she is not cruel, so there is no need to be afraid."

An aged, trembling voice rang out. Then, everyone saw a humanoid mass of mist approaching them.

Voldemort quickly reassured them before looking at the mist. "Senior, do you want me to pull you out of the fog?"

The misty figure pressed close in front of Voldemort, its flowing mist-nose nearly touching his. "How do you stay young, little Tom? That method must be worth a fortune."
