"Oh, damn it, what did you do to Lupin?"

Dumbledore's furious roar jolted Harry out of his memories.

Lupin?

The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?

Harry wasn't sure why Dumbledore had suddenly asked that, but he remembered seeing the professor patrolling the halls before he came out tonight.

"He's fine, Albus. Calm down. No one's hurt him." Voldemort smiled.

Dumbledore didn't smile. He glared angrily at Voldemort, waiting for a more specific explanation.

"Just wait. The 'Lupin' who fooled you will show up soon. I think he'll give you the answer." Voldemort spoke calmly.

"Hmph."

Dumbledore snorted angrily, then turned back to the Pensieve and focused on Voldemort's memories.

There were many memories in it, and they all concerned the people watching.

Suddenly, cloaks rustled, and one figure after another appeared out of nowhere on the island in the middle of the lake.

They all wore matching black robes, though they were rougher than Malfoy and the others'. Their masks, however, were just like Malfoy's: each one was different.

They walked slowly. Some spotted Dumbledore watching the Pensieve not far from Voldemort and froze in surprise.

Most, however, kept silent and carefully made their way to their places.

One Death Eater tried to kneel and kiss the hem of Voldemort's robes, but Voldemort kicked him away.

The man's mask slipped off in midair. He hurriedly picked it up in terror and put it back on.

"Karkaroff came too?" Harry heard Abou say. "I thought he wouldn't."

"He fought Dumbledore. If he didn't come here, no one would protect him, so..."

Voldemort left the thought unfinished, but Karkaroff, who had heard his quiet words, trembled in terror.

"Get back to your place, you coward."

Voldemort rebuked him, then said nothing more.

Not long afterward, another figure appeared and walked straight
