Watching the two men look toward him, Lucius waved and walked into the darkness.
He had returned late because he had been handling the tasks Voldemort had assigned him outside.
Now that he had finished, he naturally had to return and help Voldemort keep records.
He often doubled as Voldemort's secretary, though Voldemort was considering replacing him so Lucius would have time to showcase more of his talents.
But given the current situation, Voldemort still couldn't do without Lucius.
He needed someone loyal, capable, meticulous, and familiar with the people around him.
The people at Voldemort's side needed to possess too many qualities, and Lucius was the best fit.
"Perhaps I could try her."
Voldemort considered it, then temporarily pushed the thought aside.
"I'm not quite sure what you mean, my Lord."
Seeing that Lucius had no further business, Ollivander spoke first. "Could you describe your requirements more specifically?"
Voldemort nodded, but instead of speaking directly about wands, he looked at the restoration ripple trailing from his right hand.
"How much do you know about restoration ripples?" he asked.
"I've studied them, but I'm too old. I've only read through the books a few times and never put the theory into practice."
As he spoke, Ollivander suddenly smiled. "At my age, I really don't have much inclination to delve into magic anymore."
Voldemort smiled along with him, but soon grew serious again. "Reading should be enough. You can understand the advantages of using ripples to cast magic, can't you?"
Ollivander nodded and considered the idea. "It eliminates wand movements, incantations, even Magic Circuits. Is that right?"
"If a spell's power needs to be increased, the necessary Magic Circuits still have to be retained. But wand movements and incantations can indeed be omitted entirely, provided one is sufficiently proficient," Voldemort said.
