The first bead on the bracelet shattered, and a Finite Incantatem spell appeared.
"Huff... huff..."
Voldemort's consciousness returned from the book, and he immediately began breathing hard to ease the pain that shot through his fingers.
He raised his right hand slightly. His palm was trembling, as though pain had been inflicted there—but his fingers looked just as they always had. They hadn't been hurt.
"Cruel experiment. Wouldn't it be better to use it on someone else, then use Legilimency on them?"
Voldemort complained inwardly. He really couldn't understand the world of devoted admirers.
When his right hand stopped trembling, Voldemort prepared to turn to the second chapter and see what it contained. However...
The page wouldn't turn at all, as though he hadn't met the necessary conditions.
"Damn it. I have to experience all of it before I can read the next chapter? How cruel can this be?"
Voldemort was furious. He grabbed his wand and was about to dispel the magic on the book, but reason finally stopped him.
If he did that, he might destroy the book's contents along with the magic, and then he wouldn't get to read the final part.
In silence, Voldemort began to consider whether the price was worth paying:
First, the book could help him gain a deeper understanding of the Repairing Charm.
Second, the final part of the book dealt with repairing souls.
Considering those two things, it was all worth it. It was just the cost...
He silently lifted all the Finite Incantatem spells on the bracelet, then took it off and put it in a drawer. He decided to face it all alone.
And so...
One painful journey after another began.
From broken fingers, to a mangled arm, then to a thighbone completely pulverized...
